Kenmore Elite Trio 795.7756 /7757 problem

I purchased the Kemore Elite Trio and it was delivered on Friday. Two days later (Sunday) I purchased food and ice cream and loaded my items into my new refrig. That was at 1pm. At 9pm the ice cream was soft as if I had left on the counter to defrost enough to serve. I put a thermometer in the freezer and it registerd at 19 degrees, the frig section is reading 50 degrees. On the control panel, the freezer is set for -2 degrees and the frig for 37 degrees. Please help. I have looked thru my owners manual, and it doesn't seem to solve my problem. It also talks about air ducts but gives no indication where these ducts are located. Thanks.

Not sure what the guest was trying to say when he/she stated "ice maker does not produce ice". I have to assume they are having problems with their new frig as well.

On a side note to their possible problem. I determined that the ice holder was not seated correctly and the door to the ice maker wasn't closed properly. I was able to fix that problem.

my kenmore trio that I purchased 4 months ago will not make ice. The tray does not fill with water although you can get water from the water dispenser. Im lost as what to try before calling for help. Thanks for your time. Liz In Minnesota

I found that I had not closed my door to the icemaker all the way. Once I did that, my icemaker started making ice etc. Try opening and then closing it a little roughly so that it snaps closed and see if that helps. Good luck.

I have the same problem. The ice maker in my Kenmore Elite Trio also stopped making ice. I noticed that the ice level sensing arm won't move up or down. Does this have any revelance to the problem? If so, is there a way to disassemble the unit to free up the mechanism in hopes of correcting the problem. It appears that the mechanism is jammed. Should I be able to move the sensing arm up or down? I recall that prior to the ice maker failure the ice would not dispense from the ice bin because the cubs were stuck together. I think my son may have removed the bin for ice and failed to completely close the access door allowing the temperature to rise and the ice cubes to melt and stick together. Is it possible that the door not being closed completely caused the problem? So far I haven't done anything other than to seek out information and a copy of the service manual. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

Kenmore Elite Trio French Doors model 795.7757....front panel lights and choices, e.g. frig temp....ice/water/crushed....etc...OFF.....reading on front is "Er IF"....ice maker not making ice......noticed day before this happened....had overabundance of ice......removed ice....now no ice....no lights on front panel....still able to get water....that's all. Water is cold...frig still working....freezer still cold. Called 1-800 4MY HOME as suggested on inside sticker.....was told they never heard of this problem....need repair person. Tried replacing water filter. Turned ice maker on and off to restart. Took ice bin out, removed any ice stuck together, replaced, turned on then off again....still not working. "Er IF" message still on front panel. Really don't want to unplug frig for day or two....any easier suggestions? Thanks.

My kemore elite trio 795.7757 has the similar problems as icecream softened in the freezer and vegetables frozen in the crisper compartment in the beginning of the use. The repairmans did some work and changed some parts; however, it never solves the problems. We were suggested to purchase Sears' Master Prtection Plan by the relatioship service representative. After ten calls for service, the technical manager rejected the claim from the relationship service center to swatch a new one. The service center claimed 3 times again to demand a response. Each time, we have to waite 48 hours -that means working hours -- 6 days! but, no response from the technic manager. Neither the reprsentative nor I can reach the technical manager by the phone - the receiver refused to tranfer to the unit#8214. It is a hassel! I don't expect a swatch. I don't trust Kemore or Sears' warranty any more.

THANK YOU! Because of what I you said, I was able to fix the identical
problem in my refrigerator! Yipee! I've been listening to a rattle for
about a week! Then the ice stopped. I reseated the bin, and pulled some
stuck ice cubes out of the maker. The noise is finally gone after a
week and now I notice how quiet it is. Oh, the stress of that noise was
    driving me insane!

I've had my elite for a week. Twice now I've had the unit go warm, melting and thawing everything. Same in the fridge. All tech service wants to talk about is the extended warranty. All lights etc work fine. Water dispenser - fine. Just goes warm for about 24 hours, then seems to kick back in. Help with any suggestions -

I had the same problem, freezer full of groceries defrosting or crisper drawer freezing produce. Sears Appliance Repair sent servicemen out twice and both times I was assured the problem was fixed. After freezing produce the third time I insisted they come and get the faulty appliance. The replacement has worked perfectly since day 1. INSIST ON A REPLACEMENT

If you are getting water from water dispenser on door, but no water into the freezer icemaker... here is what worked for me (simplified, for i took extra-work steps that were not necessary).
pull your kenmore trio (ours is 25cu ft, french-door with bottom freezer, purchased dec 2006) out so you have access to the back. Turn off water supply. Take out two screws that hold water supply to icemaker injector tube on the back of the frige; this is about 2ft above floor, and a straight-shot from back into the icemaker. With screws out, you can take off the rubber boot from the tube, then pull the tube straight out the back. The tube is probably plugged with ice. Turn-off the icemaker (inside the freezer section). Re-insert the tube... give a few hours for temps to stabilize. Then turn on the icemaker, and turn on water supply.

Probably a simpler solution would be... remove everything from frige and freezer. Turn off Kenmore Trio for a day or so (remove power, open doors). Turn back on, and let stabilize for hours, then restock the machine.

There has to be a balance between the freezer and the refrigerator because the refrigerator gets its cooling from the freezer, if you set the freezer to cold, the other side freezes,

Our Kenmore Elite french door bottom freezer, automatic icemaker, no water/ice dispenser on the door - is leaking quite a bit - had to mop up the floor three times today. first time it's happened since...

Check for cracks in the water supply tube from the house plumbing valve to the ice maker. Could also be the valve itself.

Turn off valve for a day to diagnose which.

Kenmore Elite Trio Refrigerator not cooling

No, it is not a failed condenser. You need to see if the compressor is running though. When it runs you shaould have a fan in the freezer running, a fan underneath the fridge running, and the compressor should be running. I would be willing to bet that either the compressor is bad, or the start relay on the compressor.

1 year old Kenmore Elite Trio Refridgerator not cooling

There are a lot of things that could be the source of the problem... is there no cooling at all going on in the freezer? Is the back wall of the freezer cold? It could be anything from a fan, to the compressor, to the control board... you need a technician.

I would get on the phone with Sears, and explain the continuing problems you have been having, and they may agree to cover service.

Kenmore Elite Trio not cooling

sounds to me as if the compressor is overheating and shutting itself down (the buzzing noise) Once a compressor overheats it throws itself into what is called thermal overload. There are several reasons that a compressor will do this. But you said you turned it off and back on and it worked for a while. If this is so then it is possible that your unit could be low on freon or the coils under the base of the fridge has a lot of debris on them. To clean the coils just purchase a coil brush from your local hardware store and using a flashlight to see, brush all of the debris off the coils. make sure to unplug the unit before doing this. If the coils are clean then you need to have the pressures check on your compressor to see if the proper level of freon is there. An appliance tech should be able to check this for you for a minimal cost. Good Luck
