Just got done usin my oven now have no time just an f-1 wont go away never had a prob with stove or oven what do i do to get my time back hope nuttin is wrong with my stove
I know the Magic Chef frustration all too well. I had an oven burner actualy shatter before this annoying F1 event. I found the nearly impossible element online at repairclinic.com wich is a parts seller. I checked the site and found Magic Chef codes there as well at http://www.repairclinic.com/0078.asp#MagicChef . I am posting the link because it lists all other codes too. F1 failure code lists two conditions. 1) watchdog on board 2) touch membrane defective. Under check/repair , it lists ," To determine wich component is at fault, disconect ribbon strip. If no fault code , replace membrane, otherwise replace board. Seeing that I have no problems with any function and it is an old stove, I am going to follow the sollution posted by a gent here and remove the beeper wire. I will not suggest anyone tries it , but thats what I am going to do. You have to watch what you say nowdays. We know all too well some idiot would try it and accidently stick his tounge on the main power line and try sueing..lol
Tripping the breaker(stove) on house elec. panel seemed to work.
thanks.
F-1 is a fault code.
Disconnect the power plug or turn range power off at circuit breaker. Wait a couple of minutes, then plug the range in or flip the range circuit breaker to ON.
Oven control beeps & displays any F code error (for example F11) - Electronic control has detected a fault condition. Press CLEAR/OFF to clear the display & stop beeping. Reprogram oven. If fault recurs, record fault number. Press CLEAR/OFF & contact an authorized service agent.
