Sony vaio vgnfz280e b

Hello: I am looking for a replacement motherboard for a Sony VAIO Model VGN-FZ280E, Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed T7250, but without the Nvidia GeForce 8400 display chip on it. I would like to try a different display processor, if available, since I have had to re-balled the one I have twice already and it's gone bad again now. Please let me know of any options you can think of for my SONY VAIO Model VGN-FZ280E, and how to go about purchasing it and have it shipped to the US ASAP. Thanks and regards, Alberto

End users can at best expand memory or disks (hdd/SSD) on Notebooks from internal hardware perspective.

In my humble opinion, the motherboard of any brand laptop, notebook computer are highly integrated and the video is very much a part of it that cannot be replaced. At best you can try different video settings and perhaps even a different driver version if available.

SOURCE: after power on no display on screen. What shall i

This is quite vague... however when there is no display on the screen this indicates video card problem. I will assume that you have not installed any new hard drives or controllers and that the PC was working one minute and then next there is no display on the screen.

1. Double check that power cables are secured. Actually swap power cables with the PC Box - just to rule out power cable - this wont take but a second (I presume the monitor is powered on)

2. If it is not the power cable, let's look at memory. Take memory out, put in one at a time and see if the problem persists (be sure the PC is off and that u are grounded before touching any items inside the PC BOX).

3. If it persists and it isn't the memory, change the video card.

4. If it is not the video card... then take it to a local pc repair shop and get the system board and diagnosed.

SOURCE: I have a sony vaio

Hi.

Yes you should be able to upgrade the processor on the laptop for a faster one. The socket type of the processor is socket PPGA47. This code is what you type for when looking for a faster processor. The installed processor should be Intel Pentium T2390 / 1.86 GH.

As for the graphics card then i'm sorry but the graphics chip is part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded.

Regards.

My Sony Vaio laptop makes a lot of noise mostly it seems from the fan. This is intermittent but seems to happen when I have had the laptop on for a long time. What might be causing this and is this serious...

Your processor is probably getting too hot. When it gets hot, the fan speed will increase. You will heed to have the processor heat sink checked, cleaned, and new thermal paste applied to it. You will also need to clean your cooling fans if they are dirty.
