Thank you for letting me know, I greatly appreciate it. We changed the tubing out to help freshen the taste of the ice in the ice maker

SOURCE: kenmore coldspot - How do you remove the ice maker box to clean

Hi Cincygrl,
Well lets see, I believe you have a whirlpool made kenmore, Your model numer should start with 106.
The problem you are having is from our drain. When you freezer defrosts the water should drain down a tube and under the refrigerator into a pan. If the tube gets clogged it will leak water into the freshfood section. To clear the drain you will need to remove everything from the freezer and remove the inside back panel in the freezer. in the center bottom under the coils and the heater you will see a tiny hole. That is your drain. If it is frozen over you will need to defrost the ice or you may need to run a smaller tube into it to clear it of an obstruction. I use a small rubber hose and I just insert it into the hole and blow on the other end. If you have something in it, it should blow out. If it does not then it may have ice in it and you can pour hot water into the drain and defrost it. Once clear you should not have any further problems. But they do make a drain heater probe to keep ice from forming inside the drain. You can get one for about $6.00. Good luck and I hope this helped you. [email protected]

SOURCE: Kenmore Coldspot w/Ice Maker Not Making Ice

hi LOP7,
In most cases you can easily solve this problem.
step one would be to make sure your freezer is getting cold enough. If you have icecream in your freezer is it frozen solid or is it soft. Most icemakers cycle around 0 degrees and if your freezer is not getting to 0 then it will not cycle and it will not make ice.
Step two would be to make sure you icemake is cycling. To do this simply lift the little shut off arm on your icemaker and wait about an hour then go back to the icemaker and drop the arm down. The icemaker should start going through a cycle. You should notice the arm slowly begin to raise and the ice dispencer fingers will begin to turn. Then you will hear it call for water. You may hear a humm.
If the freezer is cold enough and the icemaker is cycling that only leaves the inlet valve. replace the valve and enjoy the ice.
If the freezer is cold enought and the icemaker does not cycle, then you have a bad icemaker. Simply replace the icemaker and viola.
Third if the freezer is not cold enought 0 defrees. Then you may have a defrost problem. In this case post more info and I will be happy to help. Good luck [email protected]

SOURCE: Water filter stuck on my Kenmore Fridge

I had the same problem. I coudn't get the knob to turn. I ended up taking the front grill off so I could get a better grip on the knob. Once I did that I still have to put a lot of pressure on the knob to turn it but that did the trick. When I got it turned a quarter turn then it was easy to pull the filter out. Hope this helps!

How to replace waterfilter on Kenmore coldspot model 106.56539400

Start by taking a look at the lower or back part of your refrigerator. A grille ought to be visible on both parts. There is a strong likelihood the water filter is inside if you observe the grille. Check the upper-right corner of the refrigerator if the grille on the back or lower portion is not visible.

If the water filter is old the seals will leak into the evaporative tray overflowing it. Replace the filter or give it a turn to bypass.
