More information is needed.
Brick wall is inside apartment... what is on other side of wall?
Open existing electrical box. Drill through back of box and drill through wall until you come out on other side of wall. Install new box #1 on wall where drill comes out. Run conduit over to another new box#2. Drill through wall again until you come out on inside brick wall where you want to relocate original box. Install new surface-mount box#3 on brick wall. Then run wiring from original box. Original box cannot be bricked over or covered with building materials since it is a junction box where wires connect.
Other option is to install extension ring on top of existing electric box. Run conduit across face of brick wall. Install new box#1 where you need outlet.
Other option is to chisel away the brick and mortar from existing electric box down to floor level (or over to door frame). This will allow recessed conduit that can be concealed with matching mortar. Then run conduit across to new location. Cover conduit along floor with baseboard, or chisel out brick along floorline to accommodate conduit, then mortar over conduit. Or simply paint conduit to match brick. You must use conduit since wires cannot be run openly.

How would I correctly attach a board, horizontally, to a brick wall? I want to hang my shovels, rakes, and other tools, under the eve of the house to get them off my patio.

Hello, Nancy -

I suggest you pre-drill holes in the wood -- evenly spaced holes, all in a row, so that later on you can drill screws into the concrete anchors you will drill into the brick or the concrete between the bricks.

After pre-drilling holes in the wood, measure how far apart the holes are. Determine where on the brick wall you want to drill to insert the concrete anchors (which will accept the screws to hold the wood on the wall). Mark on the brick wall where the drilling for the anchors (to match up with the holes drilled in the wood) should be. Drill into the brick or cement between the bricks.

Then, assuming the hole measurements on the wood match up to the drilled holes in the wall, attach the wood to the wall with the proper anchor bolts/screws.

You may find these directions for attaching a ledger board to a masonry wall instructive:

Wireless problem

LOSING WIRELESS CONNECTION
Make sure the latestwireless card driver is installed in the computer.Locate the wireless routerhigher and away from concrete and brick walls, foil-insulated walls. Locate the wireless routeraway from cordless phones and microwave ovens these can cause interference. You could be gettinginterference from other wireless access points or wireless routers in yourarea. Check the wireless broadcast channels in your area, and select one thatis unused or one that has the weakest signal strength.CONTINUAL DISCONNECTION OF WIRELESS CONNECTION
There are a few things thatcan cause you to lose wireless connection with your wireless router.1. Weak signal strength, check the signal strength on your wireless card. If it is weak move thewireless router away from brick or concrete walls and if possible locatethe wireless router higher up.2. Have you secured yourwireless router from people near your from unauthorized access? i.e. change thedefault password, setup encryption use WPA2 or WPA, change the default SSID,and turn off SSID broadcast, and for added protection, enable MAC addressfiltering which allows only the MAC address/es of your wireless card/s toconnect to your wireless router.3. You could be gettinginterference from electrical sources such as air conditioners, arc welders, washing machines etc. If so, the power supply to the wireless routers andcomputers etc should be connected to a surge protection power board, betterstill connect your computer equipment to an UPS (Uninterrupted PowerSupply). 4. Check the channels ofthe wireless routers and access points in your area and change the broadcastchannel on your wireless router to an unused channel or one that is currentlyused but has the weakest signal strength. This will minimize interferencewith your wireless router from other wireless routers and accesspoints in your area.

The power brick on my xbox 360 is red and is not overheating yet i smaell burning plastic from my xbox 360 console anyone have any tips?

A red light on the xbox 360 power brick usually indicates the Xbox 360 console has a short circuit. Here is how to be sure:

1. Try unplugging the power brick from the wall and from the xbox 360.
2. Wait about 30 seconds and plug the power brick into the wall power outlet.
3. Make sure the indicator light on the power brick is orange. ( If it's not orange then get yourself a new power brick and try again ).
4. Plug the power brick into the Xbox 360 console and try to power it on.
If your power brick turns red or you get an immediate three red ring error than you will need to have the console professionally repaired.
If your warranty with Microsoft has expired; the company I work for GATpro Repairs offers this service at a low flat rate and we pay for the return shipping.
Good Luck and I hope this has helped!

Install new HD, plug into wall, no lights come on.

Are you sure the HD was installed correctly? The pins not mating properly might be the cause of the problem.

Make sure the power supply is working. Look at the brick (the box on the cord), it may have a light (an LED).

My Xbox 360 won't turn on. When I plug the power cable into the wall, the orange light on the power brick lights up as normal, but if you plug the other end into the Xbox, the orange light starts blinking....

Sounds like a bad power supply, or on two occasions I have found that one of the USB ports had a bent pin which was shorted to the metal housing, which wouldn't let the unit power on. So check all of the USB ports

I have a WRT300N router. I was wondering what the maximum distance that laptop with a WPC300N can be too still get a good signal?

Coverage
We tested the router’s coverage at different distances and with different obstacles. We measured the signal level in five points:
Point 1: Near the WRT300N
Point 2: At a distance of 4 meters without obstacles
Point 3: At a distance of 5 meters + two thin gypsum wallboards
Point 4: At a distance of 6 meters + one brick wall, about 30cm thick
Point 5: At a distance of 17 meters + one thin gypsum wallboard and one 30cm brick wall
Here are the results...

Flame

the first thing I would do is pull it apart and give the bricks a good cleaning with a wire brush to get any soot off. If they are broken beyond the point of replaceing them in the unit you will need new bricks.

Can't turn my monitor on....

Confirm the way this monitor is powered. Power cord Is it direct from wall socket to monitor or via a low voltage converter[Power brick]? If it is direct from wall then it seems something internal has failed[you knew that!] and it is not going to be a Do It Yourself Job- because unless you know about these things- where are going to start? If it is a power brick- check the out put voltage and buy a replacement at any electrical store.
