Ok so I had purchased a LG HT762 DVD Player about 6 months ago which is fully DIVX compatible and played .AVI format movies perfectly the entire time...until now. For some reason about a week ago ALL my DIVX movies which I had burnt as data dvd's and watched on the very same player no longer play. It can't be a matter of the format or encoder seeing that even all the movies I had previously don't work as well as any other DIVX movies that I burn. This is super strange seeing that regular dvd movies still play perfectly so that also rules out the laser being faulty so I'm really stumped on how could it just out of the blue stop playing the file format. In more detail, when I put the disc inside the player the menu still comes up with the names of the video files but once you click on one it seems to try and load the file and then nothing, it just goes to a black screen with the timer stuck at ''DIVX 0:00:00'' as if nothing is being played. Before it used to do this for maybe a couple seconds just to load the file but now it just freezes like that. Well thats it, any help would be greatly appreciated on this really frustating problem, Thanks in advance!
It cannot play data dvd. You need to convert and burn DivX videos to DVD. There are many DVD burning programs that you can choose from to burn DivX to DVD. You can try Leawo Blu-ray Creator. It can easily burn all kinds of videos to a DVD or Blu-ray disc.
Try to unplug the player for a few seconds and then plug it back. It should work again with the DivX files. I had an identical problem and since then, it works just fine.

It is a normal DVD player, so it only can play DVD format and DivX. No self burned disks with other formats you can play on PC and smart phone. It also can play CD (Music format)
The fact it can play DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW does not mean it also can play MP4 or MOV, because there are so manny different formats. I think to be able to play DivX, you need to give in a code. Perhaps a code you have to buy.
The compatibility according the manual is down here:
figured this out, lg dp122 uses DivX Home Theater profile, so the technical specs of the video must match that.
Those specs can be found here: http://www.divx.com/files/DivX-Profiles_Tech-Specs.pdf
Divx compatibility with this player is limited as follows; available resolution size of Divx is under
720x576 pixel - file name Divx subtitle is avail by 56 characters - if number of the screen is over 30/sec the unit may not operate norm - playable Divx file avi, mpg. .mpeg - playable codec format
DIVX3.xx - DIVX4.xx - DIVX5xx -XDIV - MP43 - 31VX - if the video and audio structure of recorded
file is not interleaved, either video or audio is outputted.- if the fie is rec GMC the unit supports only
1 point of the record level - may be helpful!
you can go to divx web page and download a convert tool this should allow you to watch your dvd's and burn them to a more compatable format also try Realpay.com this also recon. divx & you can also burn new disc with this player in mp3, mp4,cd&dvd. modes.P
Whan you say you can't find the player, do you mean it won't play DivX? The player itself on the phone only runs when you open a video to watch, from there you can open other vids using the next and rewind buttons. The player on the phone is just geared to open DivX should you have some on your phone. The Player that comes with the suite is pretty laim so download the player from the DivX website for your PC.
