RCA 52" projection tv convergence problems,can i fix it?i try auto convergence? the model is P52920BL and is a 1998 i try the green centering blue & red convergence in the setup of the tv,and it goes back to normal,but after a few seconds the colors get screw up again

Possibility is the geometric correction drive IC / convergence IC, need replacing. Another possibility is the bulb is reaching end of life.

the problem is called convergence.this model was made with 2 options for convergence.first go into menu of tv,find convergence.if it has auto convergence activate it,IMPORTANT dont do any thing until its done(it will reach 100%,you can see it on the screen.the 2nd option is manual convergence,in that case you have to adjust the red onto the green then blue onto the green,DO NOT MOVE THE GREEN.both red/blue will move up and down,left and right.

problem with tv is convergence.go into menu see if it has auto convergence-if so activate it.if not you can go into it and manually adjust it-adjust red onto green then blue onto green DO NOT MOVE GREEN

You can get the STK730-130 convergence IC at the following link which should take care of that issue. Its 24.00

Tube-type projection TVs have separate picture tubes (CRT) for red, green and blue. Convergence is the process of getting the images from the three CRTs to line up properly so you see the correct colors on the screen. The convergence output integrated circuits (ICs) are the electronic devices which make this happen.

The auto convergence should run automatically when activated, If it doesnt you will need to replace the convergence board.

The fuse fails when the convergence power supply fails,putting a new fuse in the set will let the unit come back on but convergence is not working,check in screens in the menu to see if you have adj. projection t.v.,if the is not in the menu,replace reg ic part number 215530 on the convergence power supply,this board is above the right module mounted on the black plastic.,hope this helps

You have bad convergence IC's.. If your not experienced in troubleshooting electronics or soldering, you should have a trained tech take a gander at the set. Its not worth risking life and limb to save a few bucks, Good Luck
