My dehumidifier will not empty although I have connected the attachment. Is there a part I'm missing...I only have 1 tube which I slipped through the black rubber over the bucket...I am missing a ma

What is going on is that either the hose is to long (should not be more than 48" long) or it's clogged or the hose connection and it's tubing is clogged. When any of the aforementioned occurs, water is diverted to the bucket.

Turn the unit OFF & Unplug it.
Disconnect the hose and check it for a clog and it's length. If none is found, the clog is in the hose connector on the unit or in it's tubing. To clear the clog, do the following:

Using an appropriately sized, 18" long, plastic Zip Tie, carefully insert the tip of Zip Tie into the connector & tubing. Continue to push it in until you reach a bend in the tubing. You will need to gingerly work the Zip Tie past this bend, until it either bottoms out or you run out of usable Zip Tie. Then slowly pull the Zip Tie back out while rotating (twisting) it. This will breakup any clogs. As you reach the inserted end of the Zip Tie, be prepared, as some water may follow.Reconnect the hose making sure it slopes down and away from the unit, plug the unit in and turn the Master ON/OFF Switch to ON. Set the humidity extraction level to 35% or Maximum if you have a manually controlled unit. Allow the unit to run, while you monitor the hose for water flow. Keep in mind, drainage relies entirely on gravity. The water will not drain up.

NOTE: If you don't have a Zip Tie, you may use something similar ( i.e.a long pipe cleaner), but NO wire coat hangers.

I want to have my new 50 pint Frigidaire dehumidifier empty through a hose. I attached a new hose to it, but is still empties into the bucket.
The reason this occurs are as follows:

1. The hose is to long (should not be more than 5' in length) or does not slope down and run directly to a floor drain.
2. The hose is clogged or the hose connection on the unit and it's internal tubing is clogged.

First turn the unit OFF & unplug it.

The hose is easy to check by disconnecting it and blowing thru it. If the hose checks out, then it's the connector and internal tubing. Because when this happens, water is diverted to the bucket.

The water fills the bucket and bypasses the hose I have attached wich should just empty the water into a drain.
Paul, there is a clog either in the hose or in the connecter tubing you have the hose connected to. Use an 18" long plastic Zip Tie (or something similar. NO wire cost hangers, though) that will fit into the hole at the hose connection. Carefully insert it into the hole and work in until you reach the bend of the tubing. Here's the tricky part, as you have to work it past this bend. Once you do and the Zip Tie bottoms out or you run out of Zip tie, slowly pull it back out, while rotating it. This will loosen any clogs, so be prepared for water to follow.

Also. keep in mind that the hose should be no longer than 5'. As the dehumidifier relies on gravity to drain the water through the hose.

How is the external tube for draining outside connected to the dehumidifier. Does the tube insert into the right angle nipple, then the threded end conected to a drain hose?
No. The tube inserts straight into the drain hole. Follow the 4 sets below.

1. Connect a garden hose to the threaded drain hose connector.
2. Remove the drain-hole cover.
3. Push hose connector tightly into the drain-hole on Rear Grille.
4. Press the hose down and make sure the "Arrow" on the tab is pointing upward.

NOTE:
The hose attachment will accept a standard garden hose fitting. Do not over tighten the hose when
connecting it to the hose connector, use a rubber washer and tighten by hand firmly without stripping the plastic threads. Be sure the hose lays flat and has no kinks, as it will not drain properly.

Hi, I have an LG dehumidifier, model number LHD650EBL. I have a hose attached and inserted directly into a drain in my basement, bypassing the water tray. Problem is, my dehumidifier is saying...
Try to see if operating the float lever by hand can make it turn off the 'bucket full' message. Maybe use a rubber band or tape to keep it in the on position vs. the 'bucket full' off position.

Check to see if the bucket has to be inserted for the unit to operate, and if the bucket has a nozzle to hook a hose up to at the bottom. I have a dehumidifier of a different brand that has this feature that works with the bucket in, but with the drain nozzle on the bucket connected to a plastic tube that leads to a drain for continuous operation without having to empty the bucket.

How is your hose attached to the unit if it isn't attached to the bucket?

My DH 304 is a hand-me-down so I don't have a manual but it did come with a hose attachment which is plastic tube with a threaded end to which you attach a hose. The other end of the tube goes through a hole in the back of the unit and then through a foam screen inside the unit to slip over the drain plug. Aligning the tube and the drain plug can be tricky; it is helpful to remove the bucket to see if you're getting the tube onto the drain plug. Once you have the tube attached to the drain plug, align the tube in the hole in the rear of the unit so that the tab on the tube is inserted into the slot at the hole in the back of the unit.

I have same problem (ie, missing this drain nozzle). From my searching, the GE part number is : WK09X10006.

Try making sure the tube that came with the dehumidifier has no blockage. Some Dehumidifiers have the hose screw into the side of the bucket and drain from there. Most newer ones have a plastic tube that comes with them that attaches where the condensate water drains. Good luck - Tech101

The bucket of my Dehumidifier is filling up with water.
That is what it is designed to do. Most dehumidifiers come with a hose connection on the bucket. To use this hose connection there is a knock-out inside the connection where the hose attaches that must be removed. The alternative is to empty the bucket when it gets full. Most Dehumidifiers are set up with a switch that will shut it down when the bucket gets near to full.
