Hello Sir,
I am using Windows 7 Operating system and installed High Defnition Audio Drivers. My front speakers working fine except Rear Speakers.
I was unable to set the speaker configuration. I am using Creative 4.1 Speakers only my front speakers are working and rear speakers not working even after configuring the speaker setup to Quadraphonic. There on test process all speakers getting buzz its working fine. But from audio & video players only front speakers.
Thought that the drivers are incompatiable. Any suggestions please.
Please do the needful.
Thanks & Regards
Nanda Kishore
Sounds like you are getting quad sound in the test process that checks them, yet when in windows media player or winamp (or whatever) your rear speakers aren't producing sound: Try setting your sound drivers to do something like "speaker fill" then you are set. I'm under the belief that stereo sounds aren't being matrixed into all 4 speakers.
I was able to fix my own problem with this by going to the back of the computer and changing the rear speaker connectors to one of the alternative plugs. I kept the front speaker plugs exactly where they were, since I know they were working. Just kept retesting the sample sound until I heard sound coming from the rears.
I've managed to fix this via the 'Realtek HD audio manager' (a utility that came with my audio driver).
Instead of choosing 'quadraphonic' I selected 5.1 (even though I've got 4 speakers). A set of checkboxes appeared which allowed me to disable speakers in the setup, so I disabled the subwoofer and center speaker.

This is most likely a driver issue. I would goto the creative site and use their automated updating tools.
control panel,administrive tools,computer management,device manager,sound,right click select properties to either troubleshoot,uninstall,rollback driver
hope this helps

I have the realy same problem. From speakers are working but rear speaker not working. If I set up the "speaker fill" and "environment" (room) in my settings - all speakers are working, but the sound is very distorted.
Please help me.
Thanks.
Finally I downloaded the updated drivers for my motherboard now without speaker fill I can experience the 4.1 sound effects.
