More snowflakes = colder. Place a small amount of water in a few cups in various spots in fridge, wait overnight, temp water if you want, otherwise if frozen; too cold.

pencj,
My honest answer is that I have seen this before and in most cases the board works properly after the reboot.
Although you may not have lost power, you may have gotten a voltage spike. I would cancel the service man coming out, (I am a working service man myself) he probably will give you two options. #1 Wait to see if this happens again and if it does happen again soon, the board should be replaced. #2 replace the board now.
My suggestion is to soon go purchase a surge suppressor to plug into. This does not need to be a power strip style. A good quality suppressor that only has one or 2 plug in's or plugs directly into the wall receptacle should do fine. Your refrigerators maximum amp draw is listed on the model # sticker inside the refrigerator compartment.
I hope this helps, supertechks

SOURCE: My Haier compact refrigerator won't turn on

A new thermostat is required. When you turned it down you probably broke the contact and will not re-connect. Be careful installing the new one the fine tube contains gas which is temperature sensitive. do kink or break it.

1x1.gif How To Replace the Temperature Control Remove the temperature control dial or housing. Pull the dial straight away from the wall. Remove the temperature control. If there is a housing over the control, it either snaps into place or is held in place with screws. Remove the screws, or gently depress the retaining clips with a small screwdriver. Allow the housing to hang by its wiring.
Before replacing the control, unplug the refrigerator to avoid an electrical shock hazard.
The control is connected by two wires. Label the wire placement on the control before disconnecting the wires. The wires are connected to the switch with slip-on connectors. Firmly pull the connector (do not pull on the wire) off of the control's terminal. You may need to use a pair of needle-nose pliers to remove the connectors. Inspect the connectors for corrosion. If the connectors are corroded they should be replaced.
The temperature control also has a temperature probe permanently attached. Follow the path of the probe and remove any fasteners that hold it in place.
Carefully replace the temperature probe along the same path as it was originally installed. Avoid any unnecessary bending, and do not bend it into a sharp angle as this can damage the probe. Connect the wires to the new temperature control. Replace the switch and housing (if any) and press the knob onto the the control's hub. Adjust the control to a midway setting. Plug in the refrigerator. After one to two hours check the temperature.

The problem has to be in the damper control inside the refrigerator section.

Disconnect the refrigerator from power and remove the food from the top shelf. The damper control is in the box near the top of the refrigerator section behind the temperature control knob.

Remove the knob and cover until you can access the damper control. You can prop the damper control open with a pencil or something to make the refrigerator work until you get a part if you need to. Here is the part you need.

Usually yes thats how it works. Take the fridge side and move it all the way left and see if it clicks off. Wait a few minutes than put it back in the middle. If it clicks off than you are correct so place both knobs near the middle.
