SOURCE: My Whirlpool refrigerator trips the main breaker of 40 Amps

A refrig cannot pull 40 amps in defrost , unless there is a direct short in the defrost system ( timer , heater , bimetal ) . I would use an extention cord ( for test purposes only ) , and try a different plug . Sounds like the circuit breaker is weak . In defrost , the MOST you should get , is 6 amps . This will not throw a 40 amp breaker . If you have an amp meter , remove the back refrig panel behind the refrig , and connect to one of the power cord lines (just not the green ground ) , turn into defrost and check the amps . This will tell you if short is in refrig , or weak breaker .

Nothing specific to that model but it shows what they look like. Normally they hide behind the back panel.

Whirlpool fridge WRID41TS... freezer works fine.. I have already defrosted freezer. It was all iced up between freezer to fridge.. I'm after a part number or help on what to replace.. model number

One of three possibilities. The defrost heater element is faulty. The defrost timer is stuck and no longer cycling. The defrost thermostat is faulty. The heater element can be checked with an ohm meter. The defrost timer can be monitored over 15 minutes or less to verify movement. The defrost snap thermostat can be sprayed with freeze spray and checked for change of state when super cold around 30 f. Remove power when troubleshooting. Always wait for 5 minutes befor reconnecting power to allow for pressure to balance in compressor. This will keep you from destroyng the compressor. Best of luck to ya!!

Wiring diagram for whirlpool model et20dkxzn00

Check their technical website for diagram. 105 volts is a little low, but the timer should operate. I would suspect the timer or one of the components in the defrost system like the defrost heater, defrost safety thermostat.

I can't find the wiring diagram for my whirlpool refridgerator.... MOD.#ET19RKXFN01 SER.#EG3222178. Can you please help. I need to change the defrost timer.....Thanks

I will try to locate a wiring diagram for your model ET19RKXFN01 but to change the defrost timer you will only need to know its location. Here is a link to the repair parts=> ET19RKXFN01_Repair_Parts_List
Go to page 5 of the repair parts list and you will see item number 4 Then on page 6 of the parts list you will see the timer part number beside the item 4. That is your defrost timer part number 2193084 Defrost Timer

Your refrigerator is an older model and may have the wiring digram in a packet behind the kick plate in the front near floor. Changing the defrost timer will not require use of a wiring diagram. Simply remove the old timer and replace the new defrost timer by plugging it into the wiring harness. The defrost timer can be found behind the control panel inside the fresh food compartment where the controls are located above the top shelf. If you have questions just let me know, Thanks Sea Breeze

Whirlpool top freezer fan not runnning and no voltage to the fan with the compressor running

This refrigerator has a basic wiring diagram showing power going through the defrost timer, compressor and compressor start components. Because the model number could be very close to the ET8WTKXK your model may have either a ADC, adaptive defrost control or typical 482493 Defrost Timer

Refrigerator and freezer not working

you might have a defrost problem. Frost free models have a heating element that is controlled by a timer to automatically defrost ice, ie defrost timer turns on defrost heating element every 12 hours to melt ice in freezer and allow good air flow.
You can test defrost element with an ohm meter(located inside freezer coils-will have two wires going to a plug connection), if OK replace defrost timer (located in various places depending on make and model

I have a whirlpool refg that will not auto defrost.

Inside your fresh food compartment is a defrost timer hidden behind the tep. control panel. Most panes have a hole or plug you may need to remove to turn the timer. I need you to turn it clockwise slowly until compressor stops running. Wait about 30 min. to see if the refrigerator comes back on. If not we need to replace the defrost timer part # 482493
That is providing the model number above your post is correct.
Model Whirlpool ET22RKXG?
Let me know, Thanks Sea Breeze
