After drying a oad was dried, the timer would not reset... Whatever setting you put it on now the timer stays at 0.00. What would cause this?

hi thanks for the question in the ge dryer theres 2 elements so if one is not working you only get half heat i would check the heater thanks the appliance doc

HI. thanks for the question. the motor seems to be at fault here. did you clean the venting from the dryer to the outside. , did you clean the lint inside the dryer. if not do that, thanks.

Check your heating element. If one coil of the heating element is burnt out the dryer will heat on the remaining coil, but the timer will not advance in automatic dry.

Clean off the moisture sensor bars. They are the silver curved strips about 4 inches long inside the drum near the lint fitler. If you use fabric softner sheets, a waxy build up will coat the bars. The dyer can no longer sense the damp clothes, so it goes into the cool down and then shuts off. Time dry bypasses the moisture sensor.
