Kenmore HE2 (Model 100.46462501) Washer. I get Failure Code 21. The pump runs and fully drains tub. Then it continues to run until it times out and shuts off. Spin cycle does not start. There are no obstructions in system (pump, hose, drain pump filter), and the water is pumped out with no issues. It seems likely to me that the pressure switch is not working properly. Is there a way to test it before I buy a new one? Do you think my problem is elsewhere?
“F21” is a Long Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a “SUDS” error may also be displayed. This may be an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:
1.First, attempt to unplug the washer for at LEAST 30 minutes to reset the Central Control Unit (CCU). Sometimes this is all that is required to correct momentary glitches with the unit. If the error code returns, proceed to step 2.
2.Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
3.Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
4.Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.
To check the drain pump, click on the following link for step-by-step instructions

If the above procedures do not correct the problem, it is recommended by the manufacturer to replace the drain pump.

Sorry model should be 110.46462501.
I removed the pressure switch and did a basic test on the bench. When I breath into it, I can hear two distinct clicks - at different pressure points. One click causes the normally closed switch to open while the other causes the normally open switch to close. When I disconnect the connector from the pressure switch, the washer will start up as it should, and fills the tub. I need to reconnect it to stop the water from overfilling. Then the washer goes into its normal wash cycle. I let it run, returning later to find and empty tub and Failure Code F21 displayed. That's all I can do tonight - it's getting late. Tomorrow, I am going to run some smal wires from the pins on the connector and monitor them during the wsah cycle. I should be able to see the contact closures/opening at the appropriate times. If not, there is something wrong with pressure switch or the hose and sleeve connected to the water outlet. If I can, then the problem is either in the cabling to the CCU, the CCU itself, or in the cable to the pump. Does that logic make sense?
