You are posting a docking station for a laptop. You need to make sure you Network Connections are good before attempting to use the dock with network.
More than likely you simply lost the drivers for the Network Interface Card,

SOURCE: cannot connect to internet

try running this command "netsh winsock reset" in your dos prompt. to go to dos prompt press the window key+r and type "cmd". then it will popup a new window. type the command and see if you can connect to internet. it might be a problem with spyware as well which infected the winsock or the network drivers. download combofix and run it.see if that helps u.

SOURCE: wireless connection

Settings must have changed and not not changed back, set your friends settings as default settings. He may have accidently reset something etc.

A quick solution is to go to
System Restore and reset it back a day before you gave it to your friend.

go to START > PROGRAMS >
ACCESSORIES > SYSTEM TOOLS and you'll find SYSTEM RESTORE there. Click on it and find the option to set your Notebook to an EARLIER TIME. After selecting that from the list find a date BEFORE YOU LOANDED THE NOTEBOOK TO YOUR FRIEND and left click on it and follow the instructions and your COmputer will restore the system to that earlier date (it could be 1 day before you loaned it). You will not lose any files etc.

After it goes through a cycle of rebooting etc and it resets to the earlier date, your Network should work as it did before you loaned it to your friend.

If you have trouble finding SYSTEM RESTORE go to HELP and look for a link there.

Good Luck !
Cheers !

I have an Acer netbook Aspireone AOA110. When i boot it up it loads normally until it gets to the "windows is starting up screen" i then get a pop up saying Isass.exe - system error...

Seems like you might have a virus on your laptop. What I'd suggest is trying to boot your computer in safe mode and restoring it to an earlier date. Hope this helps

My Acer aspire one wont start into normal windows, only safemode

Did your system come with any software? I know when I bought my aspireone it did not. However, You can purchase a thumbdrive with at least 4 gb of space and if you have a copy of windows xp of the same version as that which is loaded on your aspireone (should be windows xp home edition) and you can use a program like magicISO to create a copy of the windows xp cd onto the thumbdrive.

Hope this helps, and I would be more than happy to give you more specific support as needed.

Good Luck!
