i found the solution at microsoft support website, but i just found in portuguese, so im gonna try to explain how to solve it.
u need to go to start menu and then on the star search u need to search for "regedit"
when u are inside the regedit, look for this subkey "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}"
on the right side u need to del 2 subkeys
"upperfilters" and "lowerfilters"
close the regedit and restart the windows.
hope i can help u guys. it worked for me.

You need to install the drivers, windows does not recognize these additional buttons until the proper drivers are loaded. Depending on manufacturer windows 7 drivers may or may not be available. Microsoft did something smart with windows 7 by allowing you to use windows vista drivers in windows 7. So if there are no win 7 drivers just download and install the vista drivers. Good luck!

Studio 1537 is one of the classic models from Dell and it definitely compatible with win 7.. This laptop can be used for high end gaming and visual effects.. Its a good one...

You can try cleaning the eye of the drive with a cotton swab and alcohol gently a few times and see if it starts reading the discs.Clean it gently in circular motions 2 or 3 times. If that doesn't work the drive may need to be replaced.
