I have an Amana/Maytag ACD2234HRS side by side. Sometime it work and sometime not. When it is working the compressor running with a humming noise but when it do not work it make a buzzing noise and evap coil do not freeze like it suppose to. I already replace the defrost control board, temp control, overload relay/capacitor, and Thermostat. All fans and light working. Any idea what can be causing this?
If your compressor is running with the noise you described, I would make sure the parts that were replace on compressor are working properly. Also use a amp meter and get a reading on amp draw while it is humming. Anything that is above normal readings for the compressor would indicate compressor is bad or the relay and starter are not working properly. I need a series number also like a number 15 before the model number, Thanks, Sea Breeze
There are two common methods used to identify the series of an appliance. Both methods involve reading numbers from the model number identification tag.
Some models have the Series Number explicitly listed on the model identification tag. If your appliance does not have a Series Number that is listed explicitly, then it must be derived from the serial number.
The first two digits of the Serial Number are generally used to identify the series of your appliance. For example, a Serial Number of 1523427RH would constitute a series number of 15.
We need to check your compressor for bad windings or burn out. Unplug the refrigerator, open the area to expose the wires going to the compressor. Mark, remove the three wires and check the windings for continuity. Also check each pin to the copper body of the compressor body. You should get reading checking the pins two at a time all the around the three. If you get a reading between each pin or just one to body of compressor its a burn out. If compressor is worn out it will always be hard to start or run after starting. Let me know what you find, Sea Breeze [email protected]
Are you sure your test you did to eliminate the compressor was done correctly? If compressor is hard to start it can be more than one problem. Worn out compressor, incorrect wiring, bad start capacitor or bad start relay. If you put wires back on compressor wrong you will get the same reaction. If start relay or capacitor is bad it will cause the same symptoms. If compressor is worn out it causes same symptoms.

It is a series 10. It measure at 15 amp when humming and 12 amp when buzzing and compressor is hot to touch.
Same as descrided.
