If it is a riding lawn mower it is probably not a two cycle engine so there would not be a gas oil mixture. It must be a 5 horse power or higher so it would use straight gas. I hope this will help you. donnyb60

Where is oil plug on poulan pro 500 mower

It may not have one. Some newer models you can only suck the oil or tip the mower after removing gas on its' side.

Hi ca rishell

The oil drain plug is under the mower, look for the pipe plug in the engine housing, be sure to remove the spark plug wire before working near the blades as a safety item...

What type of fuel do I use in my push Poulan Pro lawn mower, reg. unleaded gas or mixture. I have been using mixture and mower is running sluggish. Want to know if I am using the right fuel.

If your mower is 2 cycle than there is a mixture, if it is 4cycle than there is no mix. Call your local repair shop and give them model number and they can assist you or call the place where you purchased the unit.. Good Luck....

Engine started smoking real bad, it still starts

Could be just a head gasket, also could be rings. Could also be oil in the gas or bad gas overall. Empty out the gas, change the oil, and try again. If it does the same thing take it to service shop.
