Microsoft wireless laser keyboard 6000 v2.0 keyboard not working

I have a new computer and purchase wireless mouse and keyboard. Mouse works fine, the keyboard does not. I have tried reinstalling, rebooting and re everything else.
Is there some magical key that turns the keyboard on. I can't connect to the internet as cannot use the keyboard to type in characters etc.
What have I done wrong?

I have done that multiple times, but it still seems to work. The ONLY key that forks is the flock key.

I have the exact same problem, but I have done what you said multiple times. It still won't work. No buttons do except the flock key.

You have to press the button on the receiver that is directly connected to the computer. While doing this, press the connect button both the mouse and the keyboard. I did this and now my keyboard is working, despite the battery indicator turning itself off a few seconds after I install it.

Hope this solves your problem.

Goo0dness, Had this myself just last week. Fortunately I had the old keyboard and mouse and plugged it in to get access. Hope this works for you.

How do I increase the range on my wireless microsoft 6000 keyboard and microsoft wireless laser mouse 6000 v2.0.

I have a Microsoft Wireless Notebook Laser Mouse 6000 that also has a very short range. The only solution I've found so far is to plug the receiver into a USB extention cord and run the cord toward the mouse.
