LG WF-764STP I have LG WF-764STP toploader washing machine. Recently the drum isn't turning anymore. All the electronics work, the lights come on etc. When the machine has to weight the load to determine the load size the drum is not turning/moving. The water cycle starts and water comes into machine and then again with wash cycle the drum is not moving. So it must be something related to the drum. I've checked and the motor belt is fine no problems. What else can I check that might be causing this problem. Thank you

Your problem might be the motor capacitor

Your problem might be the motor capacitor. Check if it is bulging or craked. Oh and thats the cylindrical small tank with wires sticking out of it.

Remove the belt and check whether the motor spins and let us know with your result. Good luck !

    Check with a multi-meter for 115/220V on motor's tags.
It will let us know if your problem is with the motor or with other device.

My LG washing machine, model WF-764STP is giving an HE error. The book says it is the water level sensor. Where do I find this and how do I repair it. Thank you

If you take the top of the unit, you will find it strapped to the side of the chasis about level with the top of the drum. Ots white and round, about the size if a child's palm. YouMAY find that removing the unit, blowing down the plastic feed pipe and then putting the unit back fixes your problem. My personal experience with these things though is that once they fail they call all sorts of problems. Very nice of your machine to warn you. It's not unusual for these things to fail in a manner that just tells the machine that there's not enough water and they just fill and fill and fill until water comes out of your soap drawer!

Needless to say therefore, if you do remove and refit, or even if you buy a new one to fit.... WATCH the machine for the first couple of loads and make sure that it's not under or over filling before you walk away and leave it to its own devices.
