Sounds like it's running but no water seems to be getting to it

Earlier today my sink clogged and the dishwasher filled with water which began to leak out the front. I fixed the sink with Liquid Plummer, turned on the dishwasher and, while it sounded like it was running, it never finished and no water was getting to it. Help.

Your drain m ay be clear but it sounds as though the dishwasher line may now be clogged, remove the dishwasher drain line from the trap below the sink and check for leaks. You drain nthe dishwasher into a bucket.

Why does kitchen sink running cause my Frigidaire Gallery dishwasher to flood? (Water fills tray via little cups in cover below door)

Hello Paul Maksymowicz & welcome to FIXYA, Your ERROR code SEEMS to indicate you have indeed filled your SAFETY tray (designed to prevent FLOODING). FRIGIDAIRE's solution is to UNINSTALL your unit and (TIP) drain your dishwasher to eliminate your "i30" ALARM condition... Without intervention the SEWAGE situation (I suspect) will reoccur... FIX IT...!! To ELIMINATE the DISPOSER flooding condition (building codes usually require an elevated SYPHON BREAK (adequate))... to prevent back-washing of WASTE-WATER into your cleaning unit (serious health & safety issue). FOLLOW proper installation procedures... (read the manual) and avoid poisoning yourself, your family, associates, visitors, friends & loved ones... (my opinion). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnac_the_Magnificent

When dishwasher is emptying it is backing into sink

there is probably nothing wrong with Dishwasher itself.
Your Sink drain is stopped up or your Garbage disposal is clogged.
usually, dishwasher drain is connected to the Garbage Disposal, but if the dishwasher empties the water into the Garbage disposal, if its clogged then water will come out of the sink. Same if sink is clogged between sink and sewer.

If you fill up your sink and then water drains away, then you know your sink itself is not the problem. If its only the Garbage disposal side that does not drain, its the garbage disposal that is clogged.

Dishwasher will not fill- worked yesterday-sounds like it it trying to fill but water is not coming through-checked water valves under sink everything is in order-just no water

This seems to be that the Anti Flood system has triggered. This device detects water leaks / spills to the bottom of the washer and automatically puts the washer in pump out mode and shuts off the water inlet. The device is made up of a pollystireene float and micro switch that activates once the float detects any leaks / spillage. Dry water and check for leaks and this should solve the problem

ASKO 1385 not filling after overfill protection was turned on

If when turned on the dishwasher sounds like it is running the drain pump, and does this in any cycle setting, it is possible that the drain pan below the unit has filled with water. Check this post for more details.

FDW60 has standing water in the bottom and will not fill up

You most likely have a stubborn clog in your kitchen drain. Try filling the sinks with warm soapy water and then letting the water drain while also turning on your garbage disposal. Sometimes the extra water pressure will help push the clog through.

Bosch Dishwasher SHU9925UC

Reset is probably a key combination, not sure which one though. Would have to refer to the manual. Unplugging it for a while should also reset it. With all the water cycling and overflowing some water may have gotten into an area of the dishwasher where it shouldn't have.

Here's a post
where the user had a problem that sounds a lot like yours. Read the last paragraph to see how they resolved it.

Here's another link for diagrams, manuals and how to guides for your unit.

Hope this helps. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

I have a newly installed Kitchenaide dishwasher. The copper pipe is secure under the sink and appears connected properly to the dishwasher. When I turn the shut off valve on, water begans to run from...

You should be able to remove the panel below the door and see where water inlet hose is connected to the solenoid valve. I'd bet that's where it's leaking since you say it's newly installed.

KitchenAid Dishwasher fill up with water after use

Is the water clean water or dirty water? This may sound like an ignorant question, but it can make a difference. If the water is clean water, it sounds like you could have a bad fill valve. If the dishwasher is filling with water when it is not running, chances are the fill valve is leaking. The valve is closed when the float switch senses the tub filling to a certain level. The valve is also closed when not energized by the control board during drain, drying and off cycles. However, if the valve diaphragm is not seating properly when closed, it will continue to leak by. That's probably why you don't notice it while is running and it has a chance to fill during the night when not in use. Here's what to look for: With the dishwasher off, take a towel and dry the tub as much as possible. Now, locate the fill port where the water comes in (usually on the left hand side of the tub). Watch this fill port closely for several minutes to see if water is running in. It could be as minute as a trickle or drip. If any water is coming in at all, the fill valve should be replaced. Now, another problem that can occur is when you notice dirty water staying in the tub or overflowing. This is usually caused by a bad check valve in the drain pump that's allowing water to leak back from the sink into the tub. Or, you do not have a high loop in the drain line. Here's what to look for: Check to make sure the drain line has a high loop as it leaves the dishwasher and before it gets to the drain pipe at the sink. That is, make sure the drain hose is looped above the trap in the sink and not laying under the sink somewhere. You can also try filling the sink with water and open the dishwasher door. Drain the sink to see if anything is getting fed back into dishwasher. If you see water starting to fill in the tub, chances are you could have a bad check valve. Some dishwashers have a check valve in the drain pump, while other models have the check valve located in the drain hose itself. Some don't have one at all. That's why the positioning of the drain hose can be important. Good luck to you and I hope this may help. If you determine a cause, post back with comments if you need advice on how to replace anything.
