For me it was below the drum. The rubber hoses were filled with coins and a baby wipe.
easy to disassemble once the washing machine is lying down on its back.
Could be a blockage in the hose...remove the filter cover and give a hefty blow down the end of the drain hose (give it a wipe first). If there is an obstruction along the length of the hose this should expel it. If this does not help then you may have a blockage between the drum and the pump, when the filter is out, poke your finger in the small opening in the pump housing at approx nine o'clock and see if you can feel anything. Hope this helps, good luck.

If the filter will not unscrew there is an object preventing it from doing so. There are two options to fix this. Firstly try turning the filter one way then the other to try to dis lodge the item. This usually works after a few attempts but if not you will have to remove the large black pipe from the pump and try to remove it from there. There will be some water in this pipe!
Hope this helps.
Thankyou for using Fixya.

take top off machine. look down right side and you will see a disc about 50 mm in diameter, attached to this is a small flexible rubber pipe, take this off at the disc and blow through it,( you will need some type of pipe to connect to the rubber pipe).this worked for me with the very same problem.

F-18 means the pump is blocked.
First checkthe filter for coins or other junks. Make sure the drain hose isn't blocked, restricted or kinked. Make sure there's no obstruction in the drain standpipe or U-bend.
If this doesn't work, might as well change the drain pump assembly. http://www.espares.co.uk/parts?k=pump
Hope it helps. ;)
Thanks for using Fixya. A 4-thumbs up for answering your question is greatly appreciated.
SOURCE: Hi, My Bosch Logixx 8 is showing error F18 which I
F18 is either the pump discharge is clogged or the machine is oversudsing. If it is oversudsing, make sure that you are using an HE detergent and use less detergent. (Make sure to note the minimum detergent line
To clean out the pump discharge, have a bucket ready for when you release the hose. First, set the cycle selector to Off and unplug the washer. Open the service door and remove it. Next loosen the screws and remove the protective foil. Remove the emptying hose from the holder and take off the cap. Drain the water from the hose. Replace the cap. Then carefully remove the pump cap and drain the rest of the water from the pump. Clean out any foreign objects from the area (housing, threads of the pump cap, etc). Make sure that the impeller can turn. Then replace the pump cap and tighten the screws (the handle should be vertical). Replace the emptying hose and the foil protector. Replace the service door and plug back in. Then fill the dispenser II with 1 liter of water and then start the Drain cycle. Let this water flow through to the pump.
The manual is available from Bosch. Go to http://www.bosch-home.com/us/WAS24460UC.html?source=search and click on Additional Documents . Then click on User Manual. This will redirect you to the correct page. Select your specific model and the language and click on the manual with the IU designation. The pictures to go with the clogged pump are on page 9 of the PDF.
The filters that can get blocked are in the water inlets. To clear those, turn off the water to the washer. Select a cycle and press Start/Pause. Wait 40 seconds then set the selector to Off. Unplug the washer. Then remove the inlet hoses. Clean and replace the filters at both sides of the hose. You will need pliers to remove the filters from the washing machine side. Then reconnect the hoses and check for leaks.
I hope this helps.
