I was given a Cusinart FPB 5Sa SmartPower Duet Blender/processor, brand new, but no instruction manual. I am wondering if there is anywhere I can download a manual to look at to see if I am doing it right. Thank you

Oh some of these answers... the most common issue with blender is that the removable blade unit starts to jam. So : 1. unscrew it, clean it and make sure it turns easy 2. open the unit and replace the fuse that blew up because turning the blade became too hard. Voila
Place the gearbox on top of the blender/food processor
Place the work bowl over the spindle, with the handle facing the front of the machine - make sure the tabs lock into place.
Place the stem adapter on top of the spindle, then the blade.
Place the lid on top of the bowl, with the feed tube facing the back of the food processor. Then the pusher into the feed tube.

The motor shaft that spins the teeth that are on the base of the blender may be frozen up for some reason. If you purchased the duet within the last 3 years and have a receipt, call Cuisinart to get it repaired in warranty - even if you don't have a receipt, your serial number may still save you. If you purchased it more than 3 years ago, let me know.
I would suggest wearing heavy gloves and removing all glass shards from your work area. If the shards have completely separated from the belnder collar, then you are done. If not, carefully unscrew the lid from the collar. If it won't budge, submerge the collar and blender jar parts in a very large bowl with vinegar - after 20-30 minutes, try unscrewing again (don't forget those gloves). As expensive as ther eplacement blender jar is, you could just reorder the other parts if this does not resovle the issue.
I believe that Bravetti is made by Euro-Pro.
