So as of late my viper 5701 alarm is not chirping when I give it commands. I press the desired key and not only will the desired key light up but so will the function key. It the remote also gives me a noise but there's no respond from the siren. I used to receive a chirp from the alarm once I chose a key to select (unless of course I made a silent arm or disarm ((function unclog or function lock)) the remote start still works. It still locks and unlocks but there is no verification chirp from the car. I've looked up similar things on here buy it appears as if I'm the only one with this problem. I tried disconnecting the batteries from tr remote. Tried disconnecting the car battery. I know it is not in valet mode. I just can't seem to figure it out
First thing is to trip the system to see if the siren works then. If it does, then perhaps you inadvertently set the chirp commands to silent. If the siren doesn't work when the system is tripped then that's your problem. You'll need to find the siren and troubleshoot possible causes. I'd start with the wiring but the siren could have simply gone bad. You should be able to test it easily with a test light or multi-meter.
My is a 2017 model. To get it out of valet mode, press the function button on the side twice, then hit the unlock button!

Check to make sure that the valet is not engaged. The alarm will notify you by having a constant lit light. If the light flashes like it should open a door and check to see that the light blink on and off as if the alarm were triggered. If this happens the your problem is with the siren, just have it replaced.

I don't know which remote starter you have, but I have a Viper 5101. To fix this problem, I started the ignition, then turned it off, leaving the key in the ignition. I pushed the Valet button (it has a blinking blue light, mine is near my rear view mirror) and held it. Then, I pushed it 3 times, then held it down a 4th time. Then, I pressed the lock button once. I pushed the Valet button again to take it out of programming mode, and it worked! I got this sequence of steps from the installation manual online: http://www.scribd.com/doc/45065156/Installation-Viper-5101 Hope that helps!
