The webcam should be enabled by default. What are you trying to do with the webcam specifically?

Testimonial: "Just want to place video calls via Skype. The built-in webcam cannot be detected neither by Skype nor by Lifeframe. No imaging device is listed in Device Manager or BIOS."

Are there any unknown devices listed in the device manager? If not then the camera may not be physically connected to the motherboard or may be faulty. Also, have you made any major system changes since you bought it like installing a different OS?

I have the same problem, but it worked fine for several months, and then just quit. Can't be recognized, and there were no changes

Asus zenbook ux32a intermittently goes blank

Sounds like mine, it does that when it over heats. A lot of video activity speeds up the process.

I just got an Asus UX32A-DB51 and I can't get the screen to turn on. The computer is clearly on, but the screen won't turn on. I feel so inept it's like I am my mom with any computer. Help, please.

As you said u have just brought your laptop.. does it have any warranty if yes go and repair it for free.. if no warranty then All I can suggest is that your problem seems to be Bios related. To get into the bios screen you have to use F2. F8 is usually for getting to the boot order - make sure you have Windows in first place and F10 saved. If you plan on updating the bios to the current latest 214, bear in mind that there is no going back once let loose. I have it on mine and it is OK. thanks

Asus k401j .How to turn on webcam functional operation.

Hello,

Please go to the system tray and look for the "EeePC Tray" icon. Right click it to enable the camera.

If no success, go to BIOS (tapping F2 at startup) to see if the webcam is enabled there?

Webcam driver

Some times BIOS disable webcam after updating it.

To enable it do the followings:

1. Restart your Eee PC.
2. Press F2 while booting (to enter BIOS sittings)
3. Go to "advanced" tab (by pressing right arrow)
4. Select "Onboard Device Configuration" (by pressing down arrow)
5. From there you can find if "Onboard Camera" is enabled or not.
6. If not, just press enter to pick "Enabled"

I hope that would help :-)
