COOLING Dust on the condenser coils can cause overheating, observe safety precautions then clean coils. Switch off the unit before you clean them. If the problem persists, test the compressor for overheating. Overheating will cause many problems with cooling ability. Leave the unit unplugged for 3 hours and plug it in again. If it starts working, the compressor is probably overheating (Observe cautions with food going bad). A simple cause of the problem might also be that there is not enough airflow Lack of airflow is the number one cause of compressor problems and thus an owner purchasing another unit for hundreds of dollars when you can fix it for free. There should be at least several inches distance between the sides and walls/cupboards/ceiling. Electrical There is an in-line fuse mounted in the line supplying the power to the ice-maker. It is in the wire clipped to the side, change out this fuse asap. It is actually a 20-amp fused, associated with the grounded electrical supply. PARTS You may order parts very cheap from here www.canadianappliance.ca/KBRS22KV.html TIME TO CHANGE YOUR FILTER While your on the back of the system, please check the filter. There is a filter in the back of the fridge in the upper right hand side. If you do not change it, it will slow down the frig and burn it out permanently.
There is a water valve behind the rear panel that is probably clogged with sediment. No way to clean it out so it needs to be replaced. No very costly and fairly simple to change.
If your water is slowing down the screen on the water valve may be stopped up or the filter (if it has one, when was it last changed?) or line feeding the refrigerator may be stopped up or the water valve its self may not be opening all the way and staying open.
To eliminate 3 of the external problems take the water line off the fridge and run some water into a pan and open and close water like at your kitchen sink and see if the water slows or speeds up noticeably while running into the pan. If so the problem is in the water line. While you have thew line off remove and inspect the water inlet valve screen and replace the hose washer (if so equipped) this brings your problem if you have not found it yet to the inside of the fridge. Usually on the corner of the door hinge the water line makes a turn up to the dispenser inspect it there and see if its twisted or kinked. Also there is a water resiviour inside the fridge look there for the same thing and possibley where food may have been forced agianst the line.
If you still dont find it by now I'D have to know what you did find and where.
If this helps you please rate me with as high a rating as you can and thank you for using fix ya.
I would suggest that you put the new water filter back in and try dispensing water for about ten minutes. If there is still a high pitched noise then you could try bleeding the water line at different points along the water circuit (with control over the incoming supply). The fact that you are forcing water through the tank should normally resolve any air locks. The water filter could also be bled of air. Hope this is of some help.
