Hello guys, I am writing about my Fujifilm Instax mini 25. I have had this camera for more than a year and the last time I used it was awhile ago. Just now I tried to take pictures of my dog and i noticed that it is broken. I tried clicking both the button to take picture and it did not do anything nor make any sound. it just click like a dead button. So I thought the film might be too old. So I got the back cover open and close it again, and I clicked it, hey! the film came out just like the first time we load a new film pack. So I thought it might be fixed, turns out it is still stuck. It didn't do anything even if I click the button a thousand times. Now I loaded a new pack of film thinking it might work this time, still a no. Though, the black plastic card inside the film thing rolled out normally like everytime I load a new pack. Nothing visibly odd on the little screen, no E symbol, only flash icon blinking. I thought its only to indicate flash will be used while taking this picture. But then again, not the problem. I never encountered this error until now. My camera used to work beautifully before. Please tell me what is going on and how can I fix the camera. Thank you!

I have (had) the same problem. I came onto this site to find out what I can do to fix it. It didn't help. I got pissed and almost threw the camera away. So I decided to get a little rough with the camera, (i normally wouldn't do this but i was going to throw it away).
I loaded the film like normal but before I closed the back I manually wound the film around the opposite spool. I guess I fooled the camera into thinking it had already wound the film.
When I closed the back of the camera everything worked fine.
I then snapped off the pics the camera said were left.
After this first role, I loaded the next role like normal. The camera worked like a charm!
By the way...the mirror dropped back down when I manually wound the film around the spool.
I hope this works...if it doesn't make any sense feel free to email me with any questions..
GOOD LUCK.

This also happens to Yashicas often. (though instead of stirpping the film, it will rewind it back into the roll. Something's wrong with either the firmware or the drive system. It'll need to be taken to a camera repair shop, or you'll have to send it back to Canon for warranty service, if it's still within warranty.

remove the battery and check that it is good. replace battery and open back door, close the door and it should run the motor / transport. if so, load film up to the drive sprocket being sure film will catch on the sprocket.
or move the latch holding back cover, and open the door fully. check the pressure plate on the door, gently pull the plate up a little to increase pressure on the film. bring the holding lever out toward the latch and close the door to lock the lever back to position.

If your having problems with your camera, for about 20.00 you can buy the same camera on Ebay.
SOURCE: Nikon F100 does not advance film to start of roll,
Jim, it really sounds like one of threethings. Either will require a repair shop.
1. the film sensor is not recognizing film in the film chamber, or film across the back, therefore not telling the advance motor to advance film...
2. The film advance motor itself needs replaced.
3. The rear door latch switch needs replaced.
Since everything else seems to do OK, I doubt the main computer board is bad.
