Single lever kohler bath/shower faucet with stem style diverter to call for shower or bath. Stem in stuck in shower position. How do you free stem up so diverter works properly.
Probably has water deposit minerals build up on it. Push and or pull with pliers until freely moves, soak in Lime away solvent ,toothbrush on.
My Kohler K-14418 has a push button diverter that tends to get stuck in the "in" (shower) position. Can't grab it with pliers, so here is what I found works:
1. Try duck or poster tape on end to pull it out. If that doesn't work, do the nuclear option.
2. Nuclear option (I know this sounds crazy but it works). Super glue your thumb to the end of the button and pull it out. Make sure you have super glue remover handy. Nail polish remover doesn't work.
