I just bought a new VIZIO 47 inch TV from costco. The remote was working initially, but stopped working except for the volume. I just got the remote replaced, and now it doesn't work at all. any suggestions for help?
Hi, I had the same problem. My vizio remote for my 42 inch 2 month old vizio also seemed to stop working. Here's what I did: My vizio remote (like most remote's nowadays) was designed for multiple components (tv, dvd, vcr, etc). All you need to do to make the remote work again is set it back to tv. Now, the confusing thing about vizio remotes is that they actually have TWO places where you can switch the remote to the appliance you want to control. One is on top of the remote, the other is on the BOTTOM. Switch it back to TV using the BOTTOM. My remote had stopped working because I had inadvently switched it to another component on the BOTTOM component switch.
Visio 32' remote will only turn off & on and volume will not change channels. Have removed batteries and unplugged set but still nothing. Anymore suggestions?
Is it possible you also have another Vizio component such as a DVD player with its own remote? We just discovered while watching a Netflix streaming video that using its volume control buttons adjusts the TV volume - and in the process, its IR signal disables the TV's reception of its own remote signal. We have to unplug and replug the TV to restore its IR connection.
I dont know what to do my power button on my vizio remote doesnt work but everything else does.....
Please help...

It sounds like the IR board problem.
I know because I just fixed one this week on one of my service calls.
I am Vizio Service Tech.
