Check or replace fuse in plug. If that don't do it, then change fuse inside iron. Make sure iron is not plugged to supply.

You can use ordinary white vinegar. Use about 1/4 cup or so mixed with 2 cups water. Fill iron with this solution and operate it at full steam setting(high as possible) Set a folded towel(may want to use an old one)iron on the towel and operate the steam device until all the liquid is gone. This may clear some of the scale build up. There are Generic brands available at the stores made especially for irons, but vinegar is the most enviro friendly and is cheap.
