Change seal on indesit wie12

I am trying to change the seal and take some rubbish out of the drum. The back and top and panel come of easy, but how to take the front of the machine? There are no screws, no clips. I can see it isn't one piece, but it is stuck together by welds or something. I can't find any videos/instructions on this model. Thank you.

SOURCE: indesit wash machine drum bearing

Some models like the WE12 have sealed drums where the bearings can't be changed. You have to buy a complete unit for about £120.

SOURCE: Trouble with Indesit WI 102 washing machine

I had trhe same problem and was going deaf!!! I know this is probably too late for your machine but it may be usefull to someone else with this model.

Originally thought the bearings had gone but had great trouble trying to source some through UK websites so decided to strip the machine. Did this by touch (no manual!) and eventually found that the bolts holding the bottom weight to the drum had all come loose (all 3!). Trying to access them to tighten was the biggest problem as the front of the machine is welded on.

Managed the above by removing the rubber door seal from the door only and tightening two of the bolts from inside the door. The third I managed to access from beneath the machine. All were tightened using 10mm socket on a bar with extension (curtain pole!) slid over the end.

During this process I had the machine on its side, removed the securing brackets, top weight + springs and wedged the drum from beneath and the side as much towards the rear of the machine as possible to aid access.

Good Luck!

How do i change a belt on a indesit washer machine its a wd 12

Usually there is a back panel that can be removed to give access to the motor and pulley wheel for the drum. If not then remove the top panel and look down the back and you will see the big drum wheel. you will also be able to see the spindle for the motor at the bottom. Reach down to the motor and hook the belt around the spindle and place as much of it as possible on the pulley then turn the wheel to pull the rest of the belt on. It can be a little tricky but the only other way is to completely remove the back half of the machine. If you get stuck try www.espares.co.uk and check the advice centre, it gives a video on how to change a belt, most machines are similar. Hope this helps.

Water leaks from a hole in the bottom of the drum. The hole looks as if it should be there

1. Unplug from mains electricity.
2. Pull machine out from wall carefully.
3. Remove screws in top corners (that are holding down the top panel of the machine) at the back of machine.
4. Remove top panel of machine (slide it slightly in the direction of the back of the machine, it just lifts off).
5. Remove the detergent drawer (pull it right out and put it to the side)
6. Remove the two screws at the top of the gap where the detergent drawer goes in
7. Remove the two screws at the top, front of the machine
8. Now lift out the panel with the control dials on it (etc.). Careful here, you don’t have to disconnect all of them, you should just be able to put this to the side with all the wires still connected.
9. If the old door seal is still on (if not go to 10):
a. Look carefully at the arrangement of the rubber at the lip of the drum and the door rim (you’ll need to know so you can put the new one on)
b. The outer rim is sealed in by a circular wire linked by a small spring. It’s a bit tricky but you can unhook the spring from the wire (using a blunt knife to lever it out – careful not to damage the rubber) to remove it.
c. The inner rim is sealed with a larger circular spring. You can either lever this out with the same blunt knife, or just pull hard on the rubber to get it out, and the rubber off.
10. Now position the new rubber door seal between the drum and the door
11. Grip tight around the outside and inside of the rubber door seal and attach it to the lip of the drum. This is the trickiest bit, and seems impossible but it is doable. The key here is that once you have a bit of it on, the rest will slip on as you work around it the circle. Even at the bottom and sides where your hands can’t reach it should slip on nicely. It ain’t easy, give it time.
12. Now get the spring on the inner rim to seal it (again, not easy, give it time and muscle – you need 3 hands for this!)
13. Then attach the outer rim to the lip of the door rim, and hook the metal wire back in place with the little spring.
14. Put the panels and screws back in in the reverse order to how they came off/out. Make sure there’s no parts left over, ey!
15. There you go – plug it back in and run a test wash. Check for leaks.

I need to replace the seal round the door but cannot remove the old one

Take the top panel off by removing the two screws underneath the lid at the rear and look down inside towards the front door edge of the drum you will see a very large metal hose clips holds the door seal on. A screwdriver will loosen the clip then the clip will slip off and then the seal can be removed and replaced

Change the door seal

Not sure if its the same type but I just changed the door seal on a Zanussi ZWF1221W washing machine. It was a lot easier than I was expecting but this way does take a bit longer. Before starting disconnect the mains and water supply and drain hose. If possible move the washing machine out so you can get around it.
First I used a small flat head screwdriver to open the teeth on the outer door seal clamp that holds the seal in place. The old seal then peels off the front of the machine. You can continue the process without taking the front of the washing machine off but it is much, much easier to take it off if you can.
To remove the front panel unscrew the two bolts at the top corners of the back panel and slide the top cover off towards the back and lift it off. Then remove the two bolts that attach the plastic control panel to the front of the machine (either end of the top, front edge), remove the detergent dispenser drawer (you need to push down on a lever at the back) and take the screw out of the front of the machine (revealed when you take out the detergent drawer). Then carefully remove the control panel and the two bolts that hold the front panel on.
Then (very carefully as washing machines are heavy) lie the machine on its back and remove the three screws from the bottom that hold the front panel on. Then unplug the cables on the inside of the front panel that operate the door lock (its a plug with a plastic cover - just pull it out but don't pull the wires!).
Now you can lift the front panel off which is the key to making this job really easy as you're not trying to fit the new seal through the door which makes it really tight.
With the machine still on its back find the spring that stretches all around the seal to hold it on the drum and remove using a flat head screwdriver to pull it out of its groove. You can now pull the old seal off.
It's a good idea to put some fabric softener or liquid detergent around the edge of the new seal to make it easier to fit on to the drum at this point.
Find the arrow that points to the top and starting here attach the groove of the new seal to the plastic drum all the way around. You have to press quite hard but you can tell when its properly attached to the drum. Once this is done replace the spring so it sits in a groove on the seal holding it to the drum.
Now replace the front of the panel of the machine by doing the reverse of all the earlier steps (remember to reattach the door lock) and stand it back up on its feet (careful it's heavy). You can now replace the top panel of the machine (slide it on and replace the two screws).
With the washing machine back upright you can attach the front of the seal to the door opening of the front panel (the arrow should be pointing upwards). Then you can reattach the clamp that holds the seal around the door opening and then secure the teeth on the clamp so it's tight (I don't know if it matters where around the seal the clamp goes but mine's at about 7 o'clock).
Now all you need to do is reattach the drain hose, water supply and mains and test it doesn't leak. A rinse cycle uses the most water apparently so it might be worth using that.
Hope this was useful.

How easy is it to change the drum bearings on my indesit wil163s?

you will need to remove the pulley first, the screw in the middle will need a knock to release the loctite.
you will then need to remove the spider assembly, that's the metal cross the bearings are sitting in. there are bolts set around the drum. spray the bearings shaft with oil to help removal, and you may need to hammer the spider as you remove it to loosen it. be careful of the heater.
then knock the bearings and seal out and do the reverse proceedure to put back together.

Bearing noise on Indesit WDG1295

you will have to open the machine lid to see if its a plastic drum or metal.
the metal drum is easier as it has a 'spider asssembly'. remove this after taking off the pulley by taking out the bolts that hold it and bang it off being carefull of the heater element. remove the bearings and seal and refit in reverse order you took it off.
i would not advise replacing plastic drum bearings as they are a pain, removal of the rear of a plastic drum easy but not putting it back !
