Just use one of those jacks. Then turn the frequency select dial all the way up. This will work just as well.

SOURCE: i have a yamaha nx sw150 subwoofer that i want to

Parts from all-in-one packages like this aren't inended to be pieced out to other applications. Proprietary connections are a huge clue and disincentive.

A look at other Fixya queries gives this answer:

"I have this sub. The system connector jack needs a 12V DC signal to turn on. If you don't have a suitable Yamaha receiver with this connection, use any 12 V DC adapter with a 1/8 in mono plug (the tip should be positive)."

I imagine the subwoofer could be opened up and whatever circuitry is enabled by the Control signal could simply be jumpered "true" so it is always ON. That would mean the amp would be drawing power at all times, though.

Where does the 1/8 3.5mm mono jack get plugged into on the receiver? The RCA subwoofer output is already taken.

Power sub woofer is not working on my pioneer vsx-81txv everything is working all the speakers except the power sub connection at the back all i can hear is the hissing sound when i try to connect the sub...

Hissing? How loud? A sub isn't even capable of making high frequency sounds at normal volumes.

The Pioneer manual would tell you how to enable and test the subwoofer output.

Loud humming sound from subwoofer PSW111 (specially(noticeable once AV receiver is off).

Check the connections from your reciever to your subwoofer. It sounds like they may be a little loose.

How to hook it up with sub dvd

Not sure what a "sub dvd' is but here's the manual. The Subwoofer Pre Out would provide a Line Level feed for a powered subwoofer, once it is configured to do so.

How do i connect a subwoofer to my vsx-9700s

on the back of the pioneer, you have a subwoofer preamp output jack, probably colored black, as opposed to red or white. stretch a rca cord between there and the red and white (or lfe) input of the sub. youll then have to check the amp setup menu and make sure it has the output activated. good luck

Sub Woofer works but it won't when hooked up to the receiver

Yes, go to your menu then setup then speakers then subwoofer, it's probably in "LFE" it should give you the option of Sub, LFE, or Both. that should do the trick. Also check the crossover point and season to taste. While your at it; there should also be a setting for speaker level, toggle down to sub and adjust the sub out level, it's probably at it's minimum setting. Hope this helps
