Re: water freezing up in the bottom of the freezer
Your defrost drain is stopped up then when it defrosts in steed og going down the drain its running in the freezer floor remove the back panel in the bottom of the freezer and clear the drain hole under the evaporator

Is the hose from the freeze compartment in the drain pan? Or is the drain pan leaking? The unit is going into a defrost and that is where the water is coming from. It drains into a drain pan where it evaporates over time......Check the drain line and the drain pan. Is there ice in the bottom on the freezer maybe the drain is pluged inside and the excess is seeping out the door during defrost. Hope this helps....
I have this same model and problem. The water line may be frozen inside the freezer door. (the line enters at the bottom hinge area of the freezer door)
Shut the unit off and leave the freezer door open ( you will need to remove your stuff you want to save first)
Next disconnect the line coming out of the Freezer door near the bottom hinge (should be a quick disconnect coupler, you will need to remove the front air grill assy to allow access to the line/coupler) and lay the line out on the floor.
After thawing the water should run out the line leaving a small puddle on the floor. Reconnect the line, plug the unit back in and test your dispenser.
Although this method restored my water dispenser to working condition, other possible causes for this include the line freezing up in the refridgerator section, bad water valve, bad relay on the motherboard, that triggers the water valve, bad motherboard. Hope this helps.
Your drain line is clogged, that is located behind the white wall inside of the freezer. The water comes from defrost cycle, that happens every 8-12 hours. You need to defrost it and snake it. Maytag refrigerator repair in Orange County, CA
your refrig. goes through a periodic defrost cycle whereby this water is produced. It is supposed to travel down to the evaporation pan near the floor of the frig. Your evaportation pan may be clogged, remove the front lower panel and get a flashlight and examine it., or the tube leading from the freezer floor may be clogged or have ice it it. Check that out and if the opening of the tube has ice in it, melt it with a hair blow dryer
The condensate drain may not be draining into the pan under the fridge or it may have a leak or could even be not connected to the condensate pan in the evaporator. Another possibility is that your condenser might be dirty or plugged causing the suction line going to the compressor to freeze up and then thaw leaving puddles under the fridge. Clean the condenser (the coil under or behind the fridge) and it should stop. Over stocking the freezer will cause this as well. If you cover the air return in the freezer the evaporator will freeze up and the suction line will freeze back to the compressor.
you can take a ook into the freezer sect its possible that the line has frozen, nad no longer is defrost water going into the drain but rather falling on to the floor of freezer and evnetually out the door
Tool needed: Screw drive with the insert tips can be used to remove screws use the end of the screw driver with out a philips bit or flat tip inserted. Remove frozen food to camping coolers igloo ice chests or coleman ice chests or a freezer in your home . Remove all racks and baskets to expose movable panels at the inside back of the freezer compartment. Notice the 1/4" hex nuts remove the screws holding the panels at the back wall. Clear built up ice carefully. You now can take out the panels and expose the fan and cooling cool that createsthe cold temperature on the freezer side.
Near the bottom is an aluminum U shaped pan with a shallow funnel indentation at the bottom. Clear ice from the funnel pan and inside bottom carefully. Sharp objects break ice nicely and can pierce the interior surfaces . Look under the cooling coil and at the back wall is a screw holding this soft metal catch pan in place. Remove the screw and carefully tip and slid out the catch pan tray. You now have access to the drain hole that is frozen closed or clogged. Place a large towel in the bottom of the freezer area to catch water. Pour hot tap water a half cup at a time into the drain area. Do not use boiling water the plastic inside a refrigerator or freezer can not tolerate high temperature. I have melted a freezer compartment in a GE with a hair dryer. Remove the water with a clean reag and add more warm or hot water repeat until the drain allows water to flow. stop adding water or the evaporation pan under the refrigerator will over flow. Check the refrigerator about once a year for the freezeup problem or keep an eye on the bottom of the freezer looking for the build up of water frozen on the inside floor. The other solution get a new refrigerator.
the drain in the back of the freezer is probably full of ice. you need to pull out panel and use heat from a blow dryer to unplug the drain. then take a small gauge copper wire long enough to extend into the drain a couple of inches and loop it around the black heating element then when it goes yhrough defrost it should keep this from reaccuring
Freezer has a drain in the back under the cooling coil. Melt Ice from drain area with a hair dryer, check drain and clear, under bottom in back behind a removable panel you will find the drain exit from the freezer going into the drain pan. This drain line has a loop for air seal, make sure it is cleared.
