Question about Toro Lawn Mower With Toro Power Tools

Fuel or spark? Check spark by spraying carb or break cleaner into air intake(remove air filter)! If it tries to start you have spark. However you have fuel flow issue!
Remove the carburetor by removing two 10mm nuts on air cleaner and two 10mm nuts on top of exhaust. Disconnect armature from top of exhaust. Slide carburetor off then turn throttle connection on carburetor 90 degrees to remove throttle armature(you should be able to rotate carb to remove spring without bending. Put gasket aside. Remove the bowl at the bottom by removing center 10mm bolt. With a flathead screwdriver remove main jet by turning counterclockwise. Should be two pieces(skinny end goes first) ;-) . Use your can of break or carb cleaner to blow out the gunk(need pressure)! Look through the holes with a good light source on opposite side to make sure obstruction has been cleared. Reassemble in reverse order and mow!

Bad carburetor your old fuel jammed up the jet so it won't get fuel and if it does it will start and shut off So replace the carb or try to clean the jet and run non oxy fuel only

Most gas mower carburetors have a tiny hole for the fuel to rise into the vacuum venturi throat of the intake. The hole in this riser tube which goes down the center of your float chamber to the area where the fuel sits in the bowl is only as big as dental floss. Take the tine of a wire brush to clear it of crystallized or varnished gasoline and oxidized pot metal tube crust. When they make stainless carburetors, it will eliminate half of the heart attacks caused by this problem. Additives and condensation that settle out in old gas also can lead to clogging.

SOURCE: Toro Lawn Mower Won't Start
this is a very common problem with these toro mowers. the needle valve in the bowl of the carb. is plugged up with dirt or varnish from the fuel. just under the primer bulb there is the carb bowl. it has a nut under it that holds it on remove the bowl and make sure fuel flows constantly while the bowl is off. push up on the float to stop the gas flow. this could be messy and dangerous. careful with the gas. its flammable. best solution is to remove the carb and soak it overnight in a parts cleaner like gunk. caution small parts inside. this happins every year on mine no matter what i do. seems like the orifice is so small it clogs easily. good luck

Does the fuel line have a filter? It sounds like the float in the carburetor is running out of gas. Sludge builds up and the deposits on the needle seat will not let the flow of fuel to be metered correctly.Drop the bowl down off the carb and check for junk in the bowl. Check to se if the float is set at the right setting. Little pieces or rust in the bowl will be sucked up into a jet and plug it up and stop it from running. Do not leave gas in your mower over extended periods of time, this is the cause of sludge and rust build up in gas drawing moisture.

Testimonial: "Icleaned the bowl it works good now"
You need to check a few things. The spark first, you need to check if it is running correctly, does it have spark, by doing this: take out the spark, put it against a metal surface and pull the pull start if it spark, your good if not you need a new spark plug. Clean out your airfiilter it migth help too. Buy some carb and choke cleaner squirt it up theough the airfilter hole, and start the engine, this will clen the carb. yOU MIGHT NEED TO TAKE OUT THE CARB AND CLENA I OUT THROUGHOULY!!! Try that and it whould work after all these steps!
