How do you remove plastic cover from flash drive

if it is a bolt you have to get it out. if there is a nut on top use wrench on both ends. you may have to break it to get it off. drill out and put new one in. some mowers have a plastic plug that holds them on. clean it real good. let soak in screw loose for an hour or so see if that helps.

where the engine oil filter cap, where engine oil is added, if you remove the cap with a quarter turn ccw the plastic pipe that the cap screws into is removed exactly the same way as the fill cap. meaning this pipe is just a 4 inch extension, as if the plastic cover is removed you could throw the plastic tube away and install the oil fill cap directly into the valve cover. once the tube is twisted counter clockwise 90 degrees and lifted up, the plastic cover is able to be removed. when replacing the cover, there is a pin on backside that the cover goes into to keep it from rattling. and dont lose the rubber off the pin on plastic cover as it will rattle and drive you up the wall

Disconnect all cables from the Xbox 360 and remove the faceplate from the front of the console. Lift the plastic tabs on the outer shell and remove the plastic casing from the machine. Reconnect the Xbox 360 SATA cable to the new DVD drive, then close the metal cover on the console. Rescrew the Torx size 7 screws and replace the outer plastic shell on the Xbox 360. Return the faceplate to its original position then reconnect all external cables and accessories to the console. Power on the Xbox 360 and the replacement DVD drive will function normally.

I don't think they are made to come apart so it will probably wreck the plastic case, possibly the drive as well so backup the data on it first.
I would try (with the drive on edge) grabbing the drive with two pairs of pliers one grabbing one side the other pliers grabbing the other side.
then I would slowly work or twist the pliers until I heard the plastic catches or glue snapping.
Then I would use a dull butter knife or thin flat screw driver to separate the covers careful not to slip and scratch the chips inside.

just pop off the colored plate and the clips are on the side. the drive will slide right out.
(1) take off the left side cover, (2) near the front, at the bottom of the internal drive cage is a plastic lever, flip it down, (3) now open the front plastic CD holder cover (the bottom gray plastic thing), (4) there are two finger holes at the bottom of the top plastic cover - pull the top cover loose (note if you're scared to put a lot of pressure on it, you can use a small flat screwdriver through those holes to lift back the two tabs holding the cover on), (5) with the top cover off, pinch in the two plastic tabs on the side of the drive you want and pull it forward (note disconnect the IDE cable (and audio if there is one) before pulling the drive too far out), (6) pull off the two side rails from the old drive (they just push in and pull out) - but note which rail comes off which side (I'm not sure if they can be inserted upside down or not, so just keep track of which one goes on which side), (7) push the side rails onto the new drive (note you have to really push hard on the metal part of the rail to seat it properly - you'll know it's not seated if the drive doesn't slip in easily), (8) slip in the new drive & connect the IDE and power (and audio if there is one)cables (9) install the top plastic frame, flip up the lock inside the case, then close the bottom CD cover thing, (10) enjoy the new drive. hope this helps you and please vote for me

We just figured it out. Pull the end of the black plastic side and it slides out. It would be great if there were some instructions. Hope this helps!

If it is an older type PS3 (Phat) on the left hand side of the console there is a small plastic cover. Using a small flat blade screwdriver, carefully prise one end of the cover outwards. There is a small cut-out on one end where the screwdriver goes. When you have this cover removed you will see a blue cross head screw. Remove this screw. You will also see a small wire clip that is attached to the side of the hard drive caddy. Pull this clip outwards. Carefully take hold of the clip and slide the hard drive towards the front of the console. The hard drive will then come out of the side of the console.
If you have a PS3 Slim the procedure is slightly different. On the bottom of the console there is a small flip out cover. Carefully remove this cover and there will be a blue cross head screw. Remove the screw. Now look below the slot where you put your discs. There is another plastic cover. Slide this to the right and remove it. Behind that cover is your hard drive. Flip the metal clip down and pull the hard drive out.

hi i had the same problem, this is what i did. turn off the power supply and smack it about a bit then try it this should work!

i swear it worked for me, i think my kids must have dropped it which stuck the drive smacking it realised it.

Files on a flash drive can be corrupted if it is not removed from the USB port properly.
Before removing the flash drive click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon and then click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flash drive when the computer message says it is Safe to remove.
To restore the flash drive you may need to format the flash drive, but you will lose the data stored on the flash drive.
