The refrigerator is cycling about once per second with what sounds like the compressor motor coming on then a relay clicking off then cycling again. Also, each time before the relay clicks off - the amp loads increase such that the refrig light bulb and other light bulbs on the circuit dim for a fraction of a second. This started happening a couple days ago - but would eventually correct and run fine. The problem also seems to occur when the power goes off. (live on a large boat and we have been having to disconnect power to boat a few times.Thanks.Wayne Bailey
Check and confirm that your power supply is good. Also try plugging into a different outlet. Your compressor is cutting out on thermal overload due to high amperage draw which is caused by either low voltage supplied or an internal breakdown of the insulation on the windings. If you have confirmed that your power supply is good and this still happens, you will have to replace the compressor.

hey thanks a lot.
I have switched power supplies. We live on a boat so I started generator with good extension cord going to refrig to double check everything.
Have service guy coming tomorrow.
Thanks again for your time.
Wayne
Well,
Service guy came here and it was the compressor relay on the PC board located on the back of the refrig. Guy says he sees it all the time and knew what it was as soon as he heard it start.
Board cost - 150.00
Labor to replace board (4 plugs) - 150.00 (&%#@!)
Cold Fridge - Priceless
Thanks for the help.
Regards,
Wayne
