SOURCE: Very poor battery life, have to keep it plugged
Hello there,
Yes my dear friend, the battery is bad already that is why it seems like you have to get it plugged into the mains all the time when you are using the laptop.
The battery tends to last for over three years, but there are some things that gets to drain the life cycle of the battery.
Things like, plugging the laptop when ever it is in use. Once the battery is full, one needs to get it unplug it from the mains and use the battery till it is low before connecting the charger back on it. That way, the battery will last a while before the cells die off. As constant charge gets to weaken the battery cells and therefore makes the battery weak and unable to hold a charge.
The battery can also get bad if the voltage used to charge it is very high. High voltage tends to kill the battery cells also.
Some times, the battery could last for over three years and at times less that. The cells in the battery could get weak at any time. So I will advice you get another battery and this time, take caution on how you get to charge the battery.
Hope this was helpful to you.
Goodluck

Its time for a new battery. After a period of time of using a battery, the amount of charge it can hold depletes. Even if you always have it plugged in. Usually, batteries only last 18-24 months which is sad, seeing how much they cost. I'm a computer tech and see this problem everyday first hand. The best thing you can do is buy a battery from eBay and save yourself a bunch of money. Local retail stores charge up to 3 times as much for a battery. Good luck and I hope this helps..... :>)

Some webcams come with sound and those that do have either connectivity through usb or a seperate wire with a red mini-din end. This plugs into the mic port usually also red. The laptop should have a built in mic and is usually muted by default. To enable you need to right click on the little speaker icon (usually on the lower right in the taskbar by the clock) and left click properties, from there you should see different volume settings for your sound device. Mic is most likely muted. Uncheck mic and go through the skype setup to get your sound properly adjusted. Another note, I suggest using an external usb mic as the sound pickup is much better.

The low performance comes from your graphics card.
The system requirements listed in the wiki refer to OpenGL. You would have to make sure your graphics card natively supports OpenGL to receive performance increases.
Also it matters wether you have an actual graphics card in your laptop or not.
Your model can come with Intel or AMD. not sure which one you have.
Were Intel isn't really your best bet in this setup.
If you wanted to do some serious 3D rendering on a laptop, you probably won't find it in a $600 or less laptop. Like they say you get what you pay for.
On the other end it shouldn't be to bad either.
One thing to look for is if you can find OpenGL drivers for your graphics card.
