Have a Kenmore HE2 Plus washer and I get an F-11 error code. I have removed both the MCU and CCU, checking for bad connections and re-installed. Don't want to replace the either the MCU or the CCU and find out it doesn't fix the problem (might as well just buy a new one then).

Hello,
Welcome to Fixya.
The central control unit, aka "CCU" is the control located to the right of the main console when you remove the top. ( approaching from the front )
The part number you want is W10205848 as listed by "searspartsdirect.com". ( Also available at many on-line vendors such as "repairclinic.com" which use there own stock number 1547531 )
I do see a fair bit of these since I am presently a Sears service technician ( after being independent for over 15 yrs. it`s an adjustment...but that`s another story :P ).
It should look like the image I`ve attached to help you identify it more easily...
Hope this answers your question. Thank you for choosing "FixYa" for your repair needs.
Please take a moment to rate the info I provided for you here and a testimony if you feel it warranted.
Thanks again and good luck.

SOURCE: Error F28
F28 is a serial bus error from the CCU (Central Control Unit) to the MCU (Motor Control Unit).
All you need is some Electronics contact cleaner spray and a 1/4 inch socket to remove the top of the machine and the back of the machine.
The CCU is the computer looking box at the top front right hand corner.
Find connector M13, (has red marking on it and only 3 wires) disconnect it by pushing the retainer tab back and pulling gently on the connector.
Spray the contacts of the connector and computer with connector cleaner.
Then re-assemble connector.
The MCU is in the back lower left corner.
Find the connector with 3 wires and red mark, and remove this connector in the same way you did the other, spray it and re-install.
Put the back and top back on.

The F30 error code will flash when the dispenser motor cannot be driven to its proper position.
* It could have a mechanical failure in the linkage between the dispenser motor and the top of the dispenser.
* Loose wire connection between the machine control board and the dispenser motor
* Failed dispenser motor

Let's focus first on error codes F22 and F26. Error code F22 is door lock fault and it flashes when the door lock fails to activate after 6 attempts while F26 flashes when the door switch is opened for more than 5 seconds while the door is locked or when the door is not opened after 3 consecutive cycles. Since you cannot do 3 consecutive cycles without opening the door, this may indicate that the door switch contacts are welded together. But both error codes may also indicate a malfunctioning CCU or any other component such as the motor controller unit (MCU).
Disconnect power then start troubleshooting the machine by disconnecting the MCU wire harnesses (MI3 and MS2) from the CCU then reconnect power and start the machine. If error codes F22 and F26 go away, then the MCU must be the culprit, replace it. If the error codes do not go away, disconnect power then test the continuity of the terminals of door switch harness DS2 both with the door open and close. It must have continuity, if the door lock and switch assembly is good, when the door is close and none when the door is open. Also test the continuity between the terminals of connector DS2 on the CCU and it should read open.
Proceed with the troubleshooting of the door lock switch and solenoids if the door switch contact is open when the door is open and close when the door is close. Disconnect power then disconnect the door lock switch harness from connector DLS2 on the CCU. Jump a wire between the terminals of DLS2 on the CCU then close the door firmly. Reconnect power then start the machine.
Post back the result of the tests and your observations about the behavior of the machine as you do the tests. It will help determine which part is causing the problem.

Hello & Welcome to FixYa
Error F31 in your washer is
displayed due to MCU (Motor Control Unit) failure. It is displayed if the heat
sink gets too hot and then the MCU stops motor, then MCU sends the signal to
CCU (Central control unit). Please check the wire connections between the CCU
and MCU, if thats fine then check the motor operation. Hope you
understand...replacing the part# that has gone bad is recommended repair.
Please get back to me if you have any other questions.
