Try shifting the high/low switch to make sure fully engaged. Also make sure that all the other positions are correct and if so then you have a clutch problem. For a breakdown you can go to Dewaltservicenet.com and get a parts breakdown and list for this tool. Good luck and if I have answered your question would you please rate this response accordingly.

How to get the chuck off a dcd950 dewalt hammer drill

Only the screw in the centre of the chuck would be l/h tread, the chuck should be normal thread and come off in an anti clockwise direction. Please confirm drill model number. They did a version where you needed a service tool to remove it and refit. It is torqued on.

How do i remove the chuck from dewalt dc925 cordless drill, dosnt have a screw inside the chuck, read somewhere that i need a special tool but no instruction or picture of the tool. please help., thank you

The dc925 and the current model dcd950 along with several other models of Dewalt 's line of cordless hammer drills DO NOT have a screw inside removal requires a CHUCK REMOVAL FIXTURE part #
233804-40 also you can't use a generic replacement chuck. As of 2/2/2010 the prices on the Dewaltservicenet web site are $72.74 for
the tool and $69.70 for the chuck, part # 330075-90.

Chuck has no power dc925 hammer drill

No return it to a Dewalt service center for their Max Repair Rate. They will fix anything including batterys for a set amount, if it is less then you pay less. If not give me the exact model number and I will look into it.

Removing the chuck on a dewalt DC925 cordless drill.

I just changed the chuck on my 18 volt xrp half inch hammer drill, yes first you must remove the torx screw with #15 torx bit, note this is a left handed thread screw, knowing the bad chuck was bad I added some heat from a propane torch to the chuck then making sure it was in 1st gear i took some vise grips and the chuck is screwed on with normal right handed threads,it broke loose (was stubborn but needs a lot of torque )ahhhhhh wat a pain.
