It is possible to get this build up in the return vents. Check seals for any possiblilty of warm air getting into the fridge. Warm air getting in will cause this. For now use a hair dryer or some hot water to clear the vents. Let me know what you find. Would appreciate a solved rating for expert advice.

please check the air flow to the refrigerator side. it could be a stuck damper motor or damper thermostat. if the fan inside the freezer is running, you should be able to feel cold air coming out off the vents in the refrigerator side. you might have to press the button light switch on the panels to run the fan.

defrost problem. advance defrost timer to defrost (till it shuts off) . remove freezer panel, check voltage and amps to heater,if heater is hot, replace timer, if heater is cold and no voltage, replace defrost limit switch. defrost all ice, carefully! with hair dryer, no poking with screwdriver.

first check your damper door from the freezer to the refrigerator compartment make sure its in the proper position. Then turn off the refrigerator for a few hours until the heavy frost melts away. turn on the refrigerator check the refrigeration cycle, is it working properly, is it going into defrost are the defrost heaters working.

You have a defrost problem. You need either the defrost timer, defrost heater, or the defrost bi-metal. If you have a meter you can ohm out the heater and the bi-metal ( as lonh a s the bi -metal is frozen as it opens when it gets warm to cut out the defrost heater) if you have an ohm reading on either one of the two the replace the defrost timer, if you don't then replace the part that has no ohm reading.
