What is a b p t valve

Back Pressure Transducer Valve, part of the EGR system. The valve monitors and restricts too much exhaust pressure into the intake manifold from the Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve. Vacuum to the EGR valve is first routed through the BPT valve. I unhooked it on my '79 Datsun, don't know how important it is for EGR operation, did not affect operation of the engine.

Datsun 620 repair manual

Great little bullet-proof trucks! But a horse got the best of mine.
Haynes has a repair manual for the 620, about $26.00, at a parts store. Don't know of any on-line, but Yahoo has a Groups site devoted to the Datsun 620. You might want to check it out; it has some excellent, knowledgeable moderators. Good luck.
