Well, I would suggest new cables, but sounds like you got them. You might have a static build-up that is interupting the signal. Try unplugging your television for at least 4 hours. Better yet overnight. This is what is called a "hard reset".
Computer routers are extremely known for this but it also does happen to tv's and stereos. Usually you just unplug the cable for at least 10 seconds and re-plug it back in and everything is fine.
I would suggest removing the back of the tv and looking for any loose or broken ground (black, brown, or green) wires or solder pieces.
tv main menu, find a "input signal" setting. (such as antenna or CATV) make sure the antenna option is highlighted or selected.
Also on main menu, you should be able to go to the "sounds" setting and make sure speaker "ON " selected.
It may be the antenna itself or the antenna input. Try resolving with any tv settings first. You may also want to try hooking antenna up to vcr, and vcr to tv and seeing if that makes a difference.
Oh yea, just so you know, with all the television stations just recently transfering to digital, they may have not worked out all the kinks yet, because others have been having similiar problem. If all this is recent and yet to be determined permanent, then just wait it out and make sure everything is Kosher on your end with all right settings and connections. I don't believe it would be a problem with the television if it doesn't happen 24/7

Hi!
Are you using a grounded supply(Three wire connector to a 3 pin socket grounded supply).
If tv is not grounded then it can result in failure of components aswell. Please use a grounded supply to resolve your issue.
Please ask for further clarifications.
Thanks

Try using external speakers to see fi they work.
If you have lost the audio internally it will need servicing. BUT: first check your settings. Make sure the SAP is OFF and the audio is set for stereo and for internal use (or external if you have external audio going).
Or try audio from either the headphone outs or phono audio outs. If you have audio there is will be cheaper to add a PC type speaker system externally than to have it fixed as the repair charges will be at least $150 or more.
And, a good set of pc speakers with subwoofer, etc. will be much less.
Please ask for further clarifications.
Thanks

I would have the cable service come out and check your lines in to the TV. You may be losing signal strength.
Its the problem of loose connections of components on the main board.also the rare chance of cable signals being weak.
Is it still under warranty? if so take it and have it repaired...if not take it to a shop and have them fix it so you know its right the first time...

the antennacable was hooked up 26 yrs. ago. This tv is at my grandmother's house. Tv is out of warranty by 1 1/2 months.
It's hard to believe that after all this time out of the blue something just came loose without any help from a fall or push etc.
Also , I didn't have any problems with the HD. That was someone elses problem that got added to mine.
