Advent tv displays green

If you are saying no red: The model indicated here Recoton Advent Advent Q1435A TV is a 14 inch set.

first it may be cheaper to replace than repair--That said if no red look to the small circuit board at end of picture tube (it plugs onto the tube).

It will have either individual output transistors or a single IC.

What (if only one color missing) I would look at is the bottom side which faces to the rear---a circle of solder connections--possible one is broken--there will be one for each red, green, and blue--not always easy to see but if any of the solder connections look cracked or even broken loose-----

I can only get channels 600 through 900 which I have never see before.I cannot get regular channels or cable channels. It is not a flat panel t.v.Q1435A is the model number

Hi -

If you have a cable TV line connected directly to the TV, an antenna or a cable box connected by coaxial cable, I would suggest running the automatic channel scan (AUTO-PROGRAM) again:

1. Press the AV key on the Advent remote control repeatedly until TV is displayed in one corner of the TV screen. If you don't have the Advent remote, use the TV/AV button on the front of the TV.
2. Press the MENU key on the advent remote or the front of the TV to open the on-screen menus.
3. Use the CH+/- keys on the remote or on the front of the TV to highlight PRESET then press VOL+ to select.
4. Use the CH+/- keys on the remote or on the front of the TV to highlight ANTENNA then use the VOL+ key to select either AIR (for antenna) or CABLE.
5. Use the CH+/- keys on the remote or on the front of the TV to highlight AUTO-PROGRAM then press the VOL+ key to start the automatic channel scan.

Once the channel scan is complete, the TV should automatically return to viewing the first channel found during the scan. Do not press the MENU key during the scan or the scan will not complete.

If you are using a cable/satellite receiver and it is connected to the TV by any means other than a coaxial cable, you do not need to run the channel scan. You should simply select the correct AV input using the AV key on the remote or the TV/AV key on the front of the TV (see step 1 above).

If you have done all of the above and you are still unable to get the channels on your TV, please post back for further assistance. You can reply to me by clicking on "Add a Comment" below your question. Please let me know whether you are using a direct cable line, antenna or cable box, etc.

Regards,
BElectric

I have an Advent Television Model Q2035A and would like to know if I am going to need a converter box for it? I have an old timey antenna that rises above my house' roof. The wiring on it is spliced for...

Yes you will most certainly need a converter box. At Radioshack you should still be able to get the piece that you would attach the spliced wiring to.One side of the piece I'm talking about has a screw for each one of the Y shaped spliced ends to attach to. Sometimes there are two places to attach things and sometimes there are four so buy the one that best fits your needs. Then the other side of the piece has the male part that will attach to the female antenna in part on the converter box. Then a cable goes from one of the outs on the converter box to one of the ins on the television.

Connecting to tv

Use the TV's remote-control to select "input" from the S-Video port, rather than from the TV's own tuner (or from your cable-box).
