RCA 50" Scenium TV new bulb, no picture but has sound
I have a 3 year old 50" RCA scenium that just went blank. I looked at the bulb and it was bad. I got a new one but I still have no picture, but I do have sound. Any ideas? Thanks Larry

Yes, the lamp will gradually get darker as it nears it's end. The rolling lines sounds more like the set is on a local channel for the cable hook up. If your local area has a channel 3 or 4 live terestrial broadcast simply tune the cable box output to the other one, the same for the tv. If this is cable/local broadcast issue it will go away in Febuary when the NTSC broadcast ends.
My tv is about not even 3 years old, the bulb was already replaced once and now the tv will not turn on, we replaced the bulb again, but no change... The blue lights come on and flash but eventually turn off.
Assuming that the replacement lamp is good, you could be looking at a bad ballast (lamp power supply) or the switch on the lamp door itself could be causing the issue. The light engine also could cause an issue like that. I would have a technician look at it as this is beyond consumer repair.
You need a new bulb or fuse, as yours went out. If under warranty call the warranter. The tv should have lights on it that blink if it is a bulb, my samsung does this. If there are no leds on the tv, ie the standby led is off, then its your fuse.
Why a color wheel? Thanks for your reply. Larry
