I posted an answer to the wrong question on fixya how do i delete it?

    stupid you cant delete a post, put in wrong catgory, new user and didnt know their were categories

Wow, well that's dumb. I should absolutely be able to delete a "solution" and you might want to consider making it possible to "comment" as opposed to every form of communication being either problem or solution.

    Wow, so now I need to be able to delete comments as well. I commented above, but then it asked me to login, and then once I logged in it put the comment in the wrong place.

    I don't care what they wrote in the CYA disclaimer. It's(non-curse word I'm not allowed to say!?) and it's why I don't use this service. At least they added comments like I suggested. (They didn't exist in 2013.)

Well that is truly a sorry statement to hear.

No one every hears from 'Support' as the site is now owned by a capital investment company. If all your posts are 'Anonymous', no one will know who you are or where. If you did use your real name, wouldn't you want your legacy in written form to exist forever.

Yes, you can either change your email in settings to one that doesn't exist, or delete the Gmail account linked to it.

If you click Comment below with a link to one of your posts, I can delete any posts that have your name under them, or any answers you have made.

Why do my Questions on Fixya keep getting deleted please?
According to your history, you only have this question showing. Normally, we only delete spam or ill eagle stuff. Recently we have been deleting very old 2015/2018 questions that are unanswered and have attracted a scam website. There have also been glitches where questions haven't posted or vanished. There was talk of a rogue moderator deleting questions to get the points, but never proven. We also delete duplicates of questions, and occasionally, I will see two questions onscreen, delete one, go to answer the other and find that either the OP has deleted it because it was in the wrong category, or another moderator has because it is a duplicate when they saw it.

Okay, post your question today. Refresh the screen. Click on the question and post the URL link to it below here by clicking COMMENT under my post. I will get a notification and see if I can answer it, or at least keep an eye on it. Sorry for the issues, the site can be very buggy due to the scripts..

Is there a way to report fixya spammers other than just flagging them?
If the Moderator Experts see them, we actually have a Delete button at our disposal, and I see one on your post which is odd. Normally we have to Flag old posts and they also vanish. When normal users Flag and someone at Fixya is supposed to check and make a decision.

WhitneyJ the Tosh spammer has added spam to your post, Head Office can delete that stuff direct from the 'Additional Information' area.

Why has my question just disappeared !? I posted a new qu under packard bell laptops and it initially showed up. Now when I click on it in the list of topics I get a msg saying it does not exist.
there is a problem with fixya site in that there are anomalies happening to question and answers and point scoring for answers
repeated e-mails to the administrators are not being answered
All that I can suggest until some one at the office wakes up is to keep trying or if you are close to the headquarters of fixya to ring and complain

Sadly, FixYa does not provide a means to delete posts. Just repost the question in the appropriate area. If you like, you can add a comment to the original question to the effect that you've reposted the question and this question should be ignored.

Hi Brenda, what is it you would like to delete?

It is not possible to remove posts, but you can add clarifications and comments to your questions and solutions by going to the thread page (clicking a question will take you there).

Clicking Edit next to your name (top right of the screen) will allow you to edit your profile. Here you can:

  • Edit/delete Profile Information
  • Change your Email Settings
  • Unfollow Problems and Solutions
  • See your Problems, Solutions and Tips
