INJECTORS WONT OPEN FOR MY FORD EXPLORER 2002

HELLO PEOPLE, MY FORD EXPLORER, GOT FLOODED, THE ENGINE GOT STIFF AS WELL AS THE IGNITION. AFTER FIXING THE ENGINE AND LOOSENED THE IGNATION, THE VEHICLE"S INJECTORS AINT WORKING, BUT THE SPARK PLUGS FUNCTIONS FINE, THE ENGINE ONLY STARTS MANUALLY, 'BY PUTING FUEL DIRECT TO THE INJECTORS. PLEASE ONE WITH SUCH EXPERIENCE?

i was once pulling a trailer with a ranger when it suddenly lost power and the engine died. turns out the problem was with the fuel shut off inertia switch. the switch is supposed to activate in case of accident. on my model the inertia switch is located in the passenger side under the glove box. dont know where yours is located. once you find it, just push the button and see if it resets. good luck.

I personally would check the fuel pressure. Then I would go back to the coil. I have seen brand new bad coils out of the box. The symptoms of a loss of power point to this component, especially if the car idles well, but loses power when accelerating. Please do not rate this reply - we all are left to grasp at straws since you have changed pretty much everything. Good Luck. Please post the final fix of the problem.

Sounds like you could have a bad coil or boots. When I do tuneups on fords I always use motorcraft plugs, and replace the boots that hook to the coils, also buy some dielectric grease to put small dab inside the boot where it slides on the plug. You will probably also need 8mm socket, 7mm socket, and a wobble spark plug socket, or swivel to reach some of them. I usually try to blow air around the intake to clean any dirt off. Then I do 1 plug at a time, and while the plug is out i crank it over or start it a second to blow anymore debris out. Fords are bad about getting misfires on back cylinders. If you take it to a shop beware book time is about 3.5 hours. Could be worse I just got through last week tearing apart a 6.0 powerstroke in 2006 E350 (No access there)

good old ford lol, try looking at the crank sensor its located at the front of the engine tucked in right hand side of exhaust manifold and gearbox, two pin plug, i have also known these to have no end of faults with the fusebox.
easy to remove, and solder the connections inside they all suffer eventually, if your not to handy with cars i recommend taking to a auto electrician, easy if you know how. Good luck Davelee

Sounds like either a bad plug wire, or coil pack. This is about all that would cause the misfire.

While starting my 2002 Ford Explorer sometimes it acts as it is flooded and will not start unless I put my foot all on the way down on the accelerator. I believe that this started when I came out of store...

well theres two things that could be happening. first would be the most obvious and to say the fuel pressure regulator is bad. simple test for that would be to pull the vacuum line off of the fuel pressure regulator, and check for fuel in the vacuum line, if so it needs to be replaced. if not the next answer would be if you take lots of short trips without getting the engine warm, the engine will actually flood. its because the EFI tells the injectors to stay open longer and to dump more fuel in the cylinder just as a choke on a carb would do, and if you shut it off during this time it can actually flood the cylinders with fuel.

first thing to check is the battery and the connections at the battery. if all this checks ok then you should try and look at the fuses for the ignition system. this should get you going in the right direction.

disconnect fuel filter on flow side turn key on if it spits fuel you should check the sparkplugs and injectors for propper spray pattern
