SOURCE: have a Bosch WFMC 3200UC and gives a E04 error.

In order to unlock the door on this machine you must first turn the cycle knob to a cycle that was different than the one you were on. The machine should then reset and the door should unlock.

SOURCE: error E04 on bosch nexxt wfmc32000c

Bosch E04 Solution:

  1. Get some towels and if possible a wet/dry vac. If the machine drained, it won't be too bad. If your machine is stuck full of water, I can't say! I'd guess you could get wet.
  2. Locate the round door on the front of the machine (about 6" in diameter, lower right corner)
  3. Find a drill bit or small screwdriver that fits in the hole in the round door.
  4. Insert the bit into the hole in the door. It will push in a tab, it doesn't take much force. Rotate the hole (clockwise) to 6'oclock and it should come free.
  5. Once the door out of the way you'll be greeted by a 3-4" plastic cap with wings so you can unscrew it by hands. There is a small collector lip at the bottom of the cap, that is where I held my wet/dry vac to catch the water. Unscrew slowly so you don't get flooded. Take your time and keep unscrewing it until it is free.
  6. Pull out the trap that you just unscrewed and you'll most likely see the item that caused the E04 error code. I found one of my two year old's socks. There is an side of the trap that is marked that it needs to be installed facing downward, so watch for that when you put it back in.
  7. Read these directiosn upside down and backwards to put it all back together.
  8. Run a load and watch for leaks. You could leave the door off until you are sure you screwed the cap in tight enough.

SOURCE: Washer stopped. E04 beeps but won't spin or continue any cycle. Have shut off machine but only makes a strange sound.

Error code E04 with a full load of laundry and water in the washer. Unplug the power to the washer. Take off the round cover plate in the front right. Mine did not turn clockwise or counter-clockwise, it was completely stuck. Used two flat tip screwdrivers to carefully pry it away, without damaging anything. The plate is a hard plastic but just pliable enough.
Once removed, you will see the pump (img_0001). Unscrew the pump cover slowly. There will be water coming out, so be prepared. In my case we had a LOT of water, so I drained it gradually into a couple of large garbage bags. Wrap the bag opening tightly against the pump surround to minimize spills (img_0002).
Once all the water is gone, remove the pump cover and clean out any items trapped in the pump and in the drain from the drum (img_0003). In my case it was some loose change and a small ColorCatcher sheet. Reassemble the pump and you're done.

SOURCE: My Bosch MOdel WFMC 3200UC washer won't spin or

Hello,

You haven`t mentioned whether you`ve checked the pump or not and obstructions and debris in Bosch pumps is very common, so I`ll assume you didn`t and explain how you can do it yourself.

**Unplug the washer from the wall or turn off the breaker before attempting any repairs**

  1. Get some towels and if possible a wet/dry vac. If the machine drained, it won't be too bad. If your machine is stuck full of water, I can't say, I'd guess you could get wet. ( unless you`re lucky enough to be close to a floor drain )
(the edges are very sharp so be careful or wear chain-mail gloves).
  5. Once the door is out of the way you'll be greeted by a 3-4" plastic cap with wings so you can unscrew it by hand. ( you should also see a red ring with a string attached, if you pull this the door should unlatch, but getting the water out first is usually a good plan ) There is a small collector lip at the bottom of the cap, that is where you can hold the wet/dry vac to catch the water. Unscrew slowly so you don't get flooded, until it is unscrewed all the way out.
  6. Now pull out the trap and visually inspect the inside of the pump as well as the filter/trap. Hopefully you'll find the item/debris that initiated the error code.
  7. After removing any debris or obstruction`s re-install the button trap/lint filter and plug the washer in to power or reset the breaker and give it a test.
  8. Run a load and watch for leaks. Leave the pump access door off until you are sure you screwed the cap in tight and there are no leaks.
Ultimately you may have a faulty drain pump, but I would certainly start by performing the things I listed first.

Let me know if you require further assistance and if not and this solves your problem, please rate the solution I provided accordingly.

Thank you for coming to "fixya" and good luck.

We are getting error message E04 on our Bosch front loading machine and it won't drain and it makes a grinding sound.

We removed the round panel in the front and there was a knee hi stocking stuck in the filter - great advice - it's fixed and working perfectly.

E04

Perhaps try opening the round panel on the front of the machine at the bottom and cleaning that hose...good luck because it might be messy.
