You normally leave the door ajar after a wash, to help in clearing out the moisture & preventing mildew. You can replace the door yourself.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Sorry for the not so good news but it does sound as if the motor requires replacement because it is struggling, particularly when called upon to run the spin cycle but your washer is not that old and well used.(Our Bosch was 18+ years old when I had to replace the motor- not that that helps you at all!)
It is not uncommon to find that the brushes are worn sufficiently for them to not make perfect contact with the commutator at the higher speeds- bouncing and sparking. Now, a word or two of advice from this retired Englishman in SW France. It might be suggested that just the brushes on the motor want changing; experience (of others) suggests that they may only last months rather than many years UNLESS the motor itself is refurbished. Refurbishment includes skimming the commutator on which the brushes run. Without skimming the brushes do not sit cleanly on the commutator (like the worn ones!), often causing excessive sparking and excessive wear on BOTH. Alternately a new motor! I changed the motor on our 19+ year-old Bosch at a cost of GBP250 ;-0(
The choice of course is entirely up to you- but do not forget that it is not an uncommon fault, especially if the washer is not exactly new. Others I have given this advice to have chosen new brushes and I don't blame them!
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Hello
& Welcome to FixYa E41
error indicates that the problem is with door lock assembly, it is displayed
when the control board thinks that the door switch is open. To solve this
problem you have to remove the door lock assembly and measure the resistance of
the PTC. If it reads open then the door lock assembly needs replacement
however, if the reading is around 1500 ohms then replacing the control board is
recommended repair. Please get back to me if you have any other questions. Kevin
I appreciate your inquiry, Gordon Smith!
From my understanding the door will not lock on your Frigidaire dryer, ATF6700FS1. You could have a potential problem with either the door latch assembly or door strike. I would open the door to see if you can locate any visible cracks or damages to either component. One or both may need to be replaced and I would recommend reaching out to a professional technician for a proper diagnosis and repair. This will help to avoid any unnecessary part purchases. -Matt
Thank you for your post, friend!
I understand that you're asking how to align the front door of your Frigidaire washer. I would recommend having a professional come out to your appliance, some of these intricate parts do require precision and patience. I hope this is helpful. -Matt
