Washing machine starts by itself

My Whirlpool Gold Ultimate Care II works fine going thru the normal wash, rinse and spin cycle. After it stops for me to remove the clothes to the dryer it starts on the next cycle all by itself. ( I have to be there when the machine stops or it rotates around the knob to the next wash.)

Going through to the next wash not na normal function, perhaps the machine is advancing to an extra rinse cycle?? this EXTRA RINSE will start after the normal wash is complete, i would check your dial settings perhaps some one has mistaknely switched extra rinse "ON". if htis os not tyhe case the n i would jave to blame a faulty timer mechanism and you would need to replace the timer

SOURCE: Ultimate Care II - Rinse Cycle does not start

sounds like a lid switch problem. is there a clicking noise when you open and close the lid?
if not then the lid switch may need to be replaced; inexpensive.
this could also be caused by a bad timer.
also try a different speed for the rinse cycle, it may be a bad motor and it is not going into a certain speed. instead of gentle or slow speed try fast or normal, something like that.

I will find my answer by testing the behavior myself. It would have been nice if you could have confirmed what I was asking. It is a complex machine, but all its behavior should be known by someone, and that is you.

Won't switch from wash to spin...

You have a bad motor. Your motor turns in one direction to wash and the other to spin. One directions windings are bad. This is why it is drawing currant so bad. Sorry, seems I'm always the bearer of bad news.

Will not spin on any rinse cycle

Hi, This washer does not have a belt. While the washer is agitating, if you lift the lid will it stop? Some models will agitate but not spin if the lid is up. It sounds to me like the lid switch might be going bad.
If you will get me a model #, I can look this up for you and give you a better idea.

Washing machine won't rinse or spin

sounds as if you have a faulty lid switch, for safety reasons if the machine doesnt think the lid is closed it willnot spin/drain the waer out.
