Whoever filled your inks should have expalined to you on how to do it if it was filled professionally,
just turn on machine and hold down the stop/reset button for a while it will bypass the inks sensor and let you print but your machine wont know how much ink are in the tanks but it will owrk ok. and you will have to do this everytime youget your inks filled.

I have an mp260 but after refilling ink my printer is saying ink cartridges empty! I have searched the internet for a chip resetter but there isn't one available for my model!!! Does anyone know how to...

This is a problem that frustrates many people. I found that there are two ways to defeat this and they are both shown hre.

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3845491-ink_cartridge

On some (just a few epsons and dell) there are ways to get around it but printer manufacturers are getting better at stopping this.

Anyway I hope the help from that link will let you dind somthing that gets round the problem for good

Does canon MP190 cannot detect cartridges with ink only refilled??i need help with my printer. i had my cartridge refilled. and i wonder if this is the reason why it cant be detected.

To directly answer your question, no the type of ink in the cartridge is undetectable, however, the anticipated cartridge life is and that's what is tested.
Roughly speaking about 80 to 85% of problems involving ink or toner are resolved by the following:
A refilled (worst possible choice) cartridge , toner or ink, or third party cartridge (2nd. worst possible choice) that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent the problems from contaminated inks causing serious product problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.

My canon printer mp190 ran out of ink while printing. The ink was a refill. I bought new refill cartridges for color and black and cannot get it to reset. It keeps flashing E at me. I have held the reset...

well, you need to get NEW cartridges because there is a NON-resetable ink level sensor, once that detect no ink is left in the cartridge, it reports a empty cartridge to the printer, no way to change that, the only fix is to replace the cartridge with a new one, on epson printers you can reset the sensor, most other brands you cant

Is it true that you cannot refill a cartridge for the Canon MP190 as the printer will not accept the cartridge

yes this is true, the ink tanks have little chips on them that know how much ink they have and how much approx has been used by the type of printing done, when the chip thinks the ink is empty it tells your printer, then your printer tells you.
you could get a chip resetter then be able to refill your tanks, or get a ink refill system for your printer £50 ($90USD) and is well worth it.

Low ink lamp staying on cannon mp190

The Canon rep told you the correct information. The printer companies have included circuits on their cartridges that will not allow you to refill them. The printer reads the code and knows that the cartridge already ran out of ink. To date no one has figured out a hack for this issue.

Canon pixima mp190

The Canon manual says to hold the red "Stop/Reset" button on bottom right hand side down for 5 seconds or more. This over rides the ink out detector and the printer will print normally. It worked for me. The lights still flash. Just ignore them. As long as the printer prints that's all you need to worry about.

Let me know how you get on. Mike C

Need help with my printer canon MP190

I refilled my MP190 Black cartridge PG-37 by drilling a hole in the top (roughly in the middle) and using the syringe supplied with the ink refill kit. To make the printer work again, press and hold down the Stop/Reset button (on bottom right hand side of printer) for at least 5 seconds until the display reads 1 again. This bypasses the ink level detector and is explained in the trouble shooting section of the on screen manual supplied on the printer installation CD. It works. It then happened again with the colour cartridge, so I repeated the process. It worked again. This should also work for the PG40 and CL41 cartridges.
