Question about Amana AFD2535DES French Door Refrigerator

Amana, model # AFD2535DES, bottom drawer freezer handle loose

We have an Amana, model # AFD2535DES, botton drawer freezer with a loose handle on the left hand side. It was installed in our new house in 2005. How do we tighten the handle on the freezer? Is there a way to fix it without having to take the door front apart? Is this something that a home repair person (husband) can fix? Please help. This is annoying.

Sure , if you look underthe handle is there perahps a small screwhole in which you can tighten handle??this may be prior year in which case if there are no screw holes present you need to grab hold of handle and with a "brisk" pull to the right it will come off hiddenclips, the clips can be t ightened and resecure by snapping back the oppisite way the handle pullled off

Slightly tap the handle moving it to the left until it releases and comes off. Then tighten the screws on the brackets on both sides. Slide the handle over both brackets and down then to the right till you hear the latches click. That's it. I had to tap mine with a rubber mallet to get them to click into place.

Freezer door handle loose
u could always set the handle in place where it needs to be and use caulk or super glue to go around the handle and that should help it stay in place if that doesnt work the website www.amana.com to see if it has warranty for the broken handle good luck

I want to remove my Amana Refrigerator handles
The handles are probably attached with screws from the back -- this will require removing some panel(s) to access them.

Loose handle on fridge freezer door.
that handle is just pressure fit on the clips securing to the door. grab hold ad PULL.and i mean PULL the the right. it will snap off just make sure you really PULL it. after that you cantighten the brackets on refig and inside the handle as well

Freezer Door handle came off after 1 yr.
I had this problem with the bottom freezer door of my Amana.
What I did was slide off the entire door handle by applying pressure pushing toward the right to get the handle off. Once the handle was off, I slid the clip (which was still clipped on to the door) off and screwed it back on to the handle. Once the clip was tightly secured to the back side of the handle, I carefully slid the handle bar back on to the door by sliding it to the left back on to the door clips until it clicked securely back into place.

Frig not cold but freezer is ice maker not making much ice either
Is your fan blowing in the freezer? Frost on the back wall of the freezer usually indicates a defrost problem... defrost themostate, heaters, take back panel off and check evap for frost build up and if your fan in working.
